Fazit

Über den Wolken… muss Langeweile wohl grenzenlos sein. Verzeiht, dass ich eure Nerven noch kurz vorm erlösenden Ende des Testberichts mit einem Reinhard Mey-Zitat strapaziere. Doch nur ein Schlager derart seichter Machart vermag es, ein ähnlich tumbes Gefühl bei mir zu hervorzurufen wie Midas’ luftige Schlaftablette. Nein, Battle over the Pacific ist keine Vollgurke. Die Technik geht für einen Budget-Titel in Ordnung, aber Spielablauf und Präsentation wirken einfach schrecklich lieblos. Es läuft im Endeffekt immer darauf hinaus, diverse austauschbare Missionsziele nacheinander abzuarbeiten, ohne dass es zu wirklich packenden Kämpfen kommt. Außerdem ist die kinderleichte Handhabung von Bombern und Fightern sogar mir als einfach gestricktem Action-Fan zu wenig simulationslastig. Wenn ihr mit der PSP abheben wollt, solltet ihr lieber zu Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception greifen. Anderthalb Jahre nach seiner Veröffentlichung sollte der Titel für ähnlich wenig Schotter zu haben sein wie Midas’ Weltkriegs-Valium.
