An Extras wird bei Spiderman wirklich viel geboten. Im Spiel selbst kann man neue Kostüme (mit verschiedenen Eigenschaften, kann man z.b. das kultige Kostüm der roten Spinne bekommen), Comiccover einsammeln und Videosequenzen freischalten. Auch beim Schwierigkeitsgrad hat man die Wahl zwischen 4 Einstellungen. Ein Optionsmenü für Cheats gibt´s natürlich auch noch. Zuguterletzt kann man mit den Spinnenmann noch in verschiedenen Speziallevels trainieren. Auch hier kann man sich über die vielen Einstellungen wie z.b. Gegneranzahl, Gegnertyp oder Ort freuen. Langeweile wird so schnell mit Sicherheit nicht aufkommen.

Grafik

Neversoft ist ja bekannt für gute Grafikengines, für Spiderman verwendeten sie auch die Grafikroutinen von Tony Hawk, eine gute Entscheidung. Was die Spielegrafik angeht kann man mit Spiderman durchaus glücklich werden. Okay, ein paar seltene Clippings und wenige Slowdowns bei größerem Gegneraufkommen treten schon auf, der Spielfluss wird dadurch allerdings nicht sonderlich gestört. Der Nebel in den einzelnen Levels dient eher als atmosphärisches Mittel, in den Gebäuden hat man meistens freie Sicht. Die Charaktere sind auch ordentlich modelliert, die Animationen im Spiel durchaus gelungen. Die einzelnen Levels sind auch ziemlich abwechslungsreich gestaltet. Von den Schluchten einer Großstadt über dem Herumklettern auf einem Gerüst (unter Beschuss durch Helikopter) bis zu schmutzig modrigen Kanalsystem wird einiges fürs Auge geboten. Allerdings gehören die Videosequenzen mit zum Schlechtesten auf der Playstation. Tut mir leid, dermaßen eckige Charaktere, schlechte Proportionen und miese und atypische Animationen kann man einfach nicht ernst nehmen. Ich weiß nicht warum die Entwickler nicht die Filmsequenzen mit der besseren (!) Grafik der Engine darstellen lassen, vielleicht hat irgendein Bad Guy Neversoft mit einer überdimensionierten Laserwaffe bedroht, damit sie Spidey mit den Videos in ein schlechtes Licht rücken.
