Fazit

Wie kann man einen Top-Titel so versauen? Resident Evil 4 ist für mich eines der besten Spiele überhaupt. Dieses düstere Abenteuer hat auf GameCube und der PlayStation 2 technisch Maßstäbe gesetzt, die Hardware ausgereizt, unseren Platin-Award samt 93% erobert. Ich habe den Würfel damals angesichts der Grafikpracht angekettet. Was war das ein Wow-Gänsehaut-Gefühl! Und jetzt diese dilettantische Umsetzung! Arrrgh! Wer die PC-Version anschmeißt, wird nur den Kopf schütteln. Dieses Spiel gehört in dieser Technik nicht auf den Monitor: Kalt, steril, kantig, flimmernd, ohne harmonische Beleuchtung. Wer soll angesichts dieser Kulisse, angesichts dieser grob aufgelösten Videos in Horrorstimmung kommen? Bei Jade Empire wurde gezeigt, wie man ein Konsolenspiel mit der Power von DirectX & Co auf dem PC verschönern kann. Aber hier hat man sich nicht einmal Mühe gemacht, aktuelle Standards zu erreichen – von einer Mausunterstützung ganz zu schweigen. Ubisoft, wen habt ihr bitte da rangelassen? Soll ich für diese schlechte Emulation etwa Geld bezahlen? Um es klar zu machen: Resident Evil 4 sieht selbst auf Sonys altehrwürdiger PS2 deutlich (!) besser aus als auf einem quietschlebendigen, bis zum Anschlag aufgerüsteten Alienware PC. Man fühlt sich hier wie auf einem Metal-Konzert ohne Boxen und Verstärker. Kein Kick, kein Kribbeln, keine Faszination. Ich würde jedem raten, einen großen Bogen um diese Fassung zu machen. Enttäuschung: Riesengroß. Note: Mangelhaft.

  1. Hab mirs vor kurzem für 5€ gekauft, natürlich sofort aufgewertet mit Patch 1.10, Ultimate Community Pack und Mouseaim.
    Am Anfang fand ich es recht gelungen, aber dann...
    Viel zu viele QTE, hat mich Dutzende Leben gekostet
    Nervige Endgegner, die viel zu viel Munition verschlingen
    Nervige Ashley, die ich gerne gegen Sheva austauschen würde
    Speichersystem daneben: Zwar bei jedem Kapitelende Speichern möglich, aber dann meist nach der 1.Tür wieder Speichermöglichkeit, dann öfters mal lange harte Durststrecken ohne Speicherung.
    Vom Schwierigkeitsgrad finde ich viel zu schwer, besonders wegen der insgesamt mißlungenen Steuerung und teils sehr unfairen QTEs
    Aber 38% (habe keine andere Version gespielt) sind zu wenig, ich hätte 60% gegeben
    Kein Vergleich zu RE5, das macht Spaß und ist selten unfair
    Somit bleibt für mich RE2 der beste Teil, RE5 kommt auf Platz 2.
    Manche mögen monieren das die neueren RE-Teile eher Shooter als Survival-Horror sind, aber damit könnte ich leben; allerdings wäre es mal Zeit das Speichersystem zu verbessern und es sollte endlich möglich sein auch unter dem Laufen zu schießen. Auf die QTE sollte man ganz verzichten, ist schließlich kein J´n´R
