Fazit

Eine gute Nachricht vorweg: Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 ist besser als der neue Asterix-Comicband. Um Welten besser sogar. Und dem »XXL« im Namen wird das Spiel mehr als gerecht: Hier tummeln sich locker so viele Gegner auf dem Bildschirm wie bei Serious Sam 2, die Action ist fulminant. Nur leider leidet das Spiel an denselben Schwächen, die schon den Vorgänger ins unverdiente Mittelmaß trieben. Namentlich der nicht vorhandene Mehrspielermodus (Warum nur? Warum??), die auf Dauer einschläfernden immergleichen Kämpfe und das beschränkte Speichersystem sorgen für Frust am Bildschirm. Wie verdammt schade, denn die Optik ist cool, das Flair der Comics super getroffen. Speziell die Zwischensequenzen sind großartig, die endlosen Game- und Filmanspielungen treiben Kennern Lachtränen in die Augen. Nur nützt das alles nichts, wenn man das Spiel nur in 30 Minuten-Dosen ertragen kann, weil es darüber hinaus langweilig wird. Wirklich schade – da hat Entwickler Étranges Libellules nichts aus seinen Fehlern gelernt. Oder sich zu sehr auf den Lorbeeren des Cäsar ausgeruht.
