Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail ist der zweite DLC zum MMO Credit: Square Enix

Wer sich Final Fantasy als MMO geben möchte, ist mit Teil 14 gut beraten. Das Online-Game ist nicht gerade das frischeste Brötchen in der Auslage von Square Enix, hat sich dank seiner ersten Glasur mit dem DLC Endwalker allerdings gut gehalten.

Mit Dawntrail kommen demnächst auch noch Streusel obendrauf, so zumindest die Hoffnung. Bis der Geschmackstest ein finales Urteil hervorbringt, müssen erstmal laut offizieller Ansage zwei volle Tage Downtime überstanden werden. Und danach sind zunächst Vorbesteller*innen die ersten an der Theke.

Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail geht in die heiße Phase

Ein ganz schön straffer Zeitplan findet sich zurzeit im Terminkalender von Final Fantasy 14, denn im Hinblick auf den Release der Erweiterung Dawntrail gibt es noch viel zu tun. Der begleitende Patch 7.0 muss rechtzeitig online gehen und mit ihm müssen alle weiteren Vorbereitungen für den Vorabzugang zum DLC getroffen werden. Um die Software in aller Ruhe auf Vordermann zu bringen, haben sich die Entwickler*innen den Zeitraum vom 26. Juni um 11:00 bis zum 28. Juni um 11:00 rot angestrichen.

In diesen Stunden führen sie die Wartungsarbeiten durch und für euch heißt das, ihr müsst wohl oder übel eine Zwangspause einlegen. Jedoch ist die Dauer nicht unbedingt in Stein gemeißelt, denn mögliche Änderungen sind nicht ausgeschlossen. Fakt ist, dass sie Kollaboration mit Yokai Watch im Anschluss nicht mehr aktiv ist, weshalb Event-Specials besser noch jetzt wahrgenommen werden sollten. Auf Reddit werdet ihr außerdem gewarnt, eurem Haus nochmal rechtzeitig einen Besuch abzustatten.

Dass am Ende sogar mehr offline Zeit ins Land geht als angegeben, ist eher unwahrscheinlich, immerhin soll Dawntrail schon am 28. Juni für Vorbesteller*innen mit aktivem Abonnement spielbar sein. Damit dürfen die Privilegierten vier Tage vor der tatsächlichen Veröffentlichung am 2. Juli 2024 ran. Wer nicht zu dieser Gruppe gehört, muss in dieser Zeit wohl besondere Vorsicht im Internet wallten lassen, um nicht über Spoiler zu stolpern.

Grenzen bezüglich des Teilens von Inhalten ziehen die Verantwortlichen nämlich nicht, sondern bitten ganz einfach: “Nehmt Rücksicht und tut euer Bestes, keine Spoiler zu posten”. Zu Beginn wird sich sicherlich trotzdem ein Stimmungsbild abzeichnen, an dem wir die Rezeption von Dawntrail in etwa ablesen können. Ein aktuelles Beispiel für einen DLC, der bei uns ziemlich gut abgeschnitten hat, bietet übrigens Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
