Valve Index bietet zwei vollaufl\u00f6sende RGB-LCDs mit je 1440×1600 Pixeln. Der Hersteller spricht von 50 Prozent mehr Subpixel als bei OLEDs, wodurch eine bessere Sch\u00e4rfe bei gleicher Renderleistung erreicht werden soll. Der im Vergleich zu OLEDs um den “Faktor 3” erh\u00f6hte F\u00fcllfaktor soll den “Fliegengittereffekt” reduzieren. Das VR-Headset l\u00e4uft mit 120 Hz. Es ist vollst\u00e4ndig abw\u00e4rtskompatibel zu 90 Hz und hat einen experimentellen 144-Hz-Modus mit hoher Reaktionsf\u00e4higkeit, der bei ersten Testl\u00e4ufen besonders beeindruckend gewesen sein soll. “Die h\u00f6here Bildfrequenz sorgt f\u00fcr mehr Realismus und optische Ruhe, optimal f\u00fcr l\u00e4ngere und komfortablere Spielsitzungen”, verspricht Valve. Die Displays sollen eine reduzierte “Beleuchtungsdauer” von 0,330ms bis 0,530ms (framerateabh\u00e4ngig), so dass die Bilder bei Kopfbewegungen genauso scharf bleiben sollen wie im Stillstand. Das Unternehmen spricht von einer f\u00fcnffachen Verbesserung gegen\u00fcber den PC-VR-HMDs der ersten Generation.
