Nach Br\u00fcckenkonstruktionen im Mittelalter, im Portal-Universum und mit reichlich Stunts geht das \u00f6sterreichische Studio ClockStone in die vollen und kreuzt die bekannte Br\u00fcckenbastelei mit The Walking Dead – denn allem Anschein nach gingen in der postapokalyptischen Welt die Br\u00fccken ziemlich schnell zu Bruch. Die \u00fcberrschend vielf\u00e4ltigen Einsatzm\u00f6glichkeiten dieser Bauwerke werden in der insgesamt 40 R\u00e4tsel umfassenden Kampagne durchexerziert.

Br\u00fccken, Fallen und Sprungschanzen<\/strong>

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead ist in erster Linie ein Logik- und R\u00e4tselspiel, in dem es darum geht, Br\u00fccken aus verschiedenen Elementen an festgelegten Ansatzpunkten im Level zu konstruieren, damit die Charaktere vor hungrigen Walkern fliehen k\u00f6nnen. Aber es auch darum, Objekte wie Container, Handgranaten, Kabelrollen oder F\u00e4sser \u00fcber Holz- und Stahlbauwerke zu lenken und damit die Zombies zu zerquetschen. Sp\u00e4ter d\u00fcrfen auch Sprungschanzen f\u00fcr Fahrzeuge oder Konvois gebaut werden. Interaktive Elemente werden in den Levels praktischerweise farblich hervorgehoben, was gerade in den sp\u00e4teren und gr\u00f6\u00dferen Levels hilft, einen Plan zu schmieden, wie die Charaktere ihren Zielbereich erreichen oder ihre Aufgabe erf\u00fcllen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

Helden mit Aktionen<\/strong>

Abseits der Konstruktionen von Br\u00fccken, Rampen und Fallen aus nur drei Bauteilen sind die Helden mit ihren Spezialaktionen ein neues Element in der Reihe. Auf manchen Karten gibt es Aktionspunkte, an denen die Helden bestimmte (wenige) Aktionen ausf\u00fchren k\u00f6nnen. Daryl kann an diesen Punkten z.B. seine Laufrichtung \u00e4ndern oder seine Armbrust einsetzen, um eine Barriere zu zerst\u00f6ren und eine Kabelrolle in Schwung zu bringen. Andere Charaktere k\u00f6nnen noch Zombie-K\u00f6der oder Granaten werfen, wobei sich der Wurfwinkel festlegen l\u00e4sst. Daryl kann au\u00dferdem einzelne Walker automatisch im Nahkampf besiegen, sofern sie ihn nicht von hinten attackieren. Somit kommen weitere R\u00e4tsel und Koordinationselemente ins Spiel, da sich die Aktionen pro Wegpunkt und Charakter verketten lassen. Die Figuren k\u00f6nnen aber nicht direkt gesteuert werden, sie laufen zu Beginn der Simulation einfach los und halten an Wegpunkten an – entweder kann man ihre Aktionen schon vorher planen oder man macht es w\u00e4hrend der Partie in einer entsprechenden Pause.

Gebaut werden die Br\u00fccken aus Holzbrettern, Stahlstangen oder Kabeln, die mit Ankerpunkten verbunden werden. Holzbretter und Stahlstangen fungieren entweder als Haltegr\u00fcst oder “Fahrbahn”. Kabel haben eher eine Haltefunktion. Die Konstruktionen m\u00fcssen oft mit einem tragenden Ober-\/Unterbau oder anderen Verst\u00e4rkungen versehen werden – und schnell werden Dreiecke als zentrales L\u00f6sungselement eingef\u00fchrt, was auch auf Tutorial-Tafeln illustriert wird. Zun\u00e4chst muss die Br\u00fccke beim Start der Simulation nach der Konstruktionsphase sich selbst tragen und danach auch noch die Charaktere, Gegenst\u00e4nde oder gar Fahrzeuge – etwaige Schwachstellen werden in roter Farbe markiert oder das Bauwerk f\u00e4llt gleich in sich zusammen. H\u00e4ufig f\u00fchren die Fehlschl\u00e4ge zu kuriosen bis verbuggten Szenen, die teilsweise recht witzig sein k\u00f6nnen.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead ist in erster Linie ein R\u00e4tselspiel mit physikalischen Konstruktionselementen und keine Bausimulation. Wie schon beim Portal-Vorg\u00e4nger legt das Spiel ab der Mitte des zweiten von f\u00fcnf Kapiteln ordentlich in Sachen Komplexit\u00e4t zu, wobei generell der Schwierigkeitsgrad von Mission zu Mission stark variieren kann. Aber das liegt meist auch an der Person vor dem Monitor – je nachdem, wie schnell der Groschen fallen will. Schlie\u00dflich m\u00fcssen manchmal auch mehrere Objekte parallel bewegt, ausgel\u00f6st oder zerst\u00f6rt werden. Ein optionales Hilfesystem mit Tipps, wenn man mal partout nicht weiterkommt, fehlt leider. Abseits von Bonus-Herausforderungen in Form von Bauteillimits oder maximalem Zombie-Bodycount gibt es leider keine weiteren Modi.

Verbunden werden die 40 R\u00e4tsel in der Story-Kampagne durch Zwischensequenzen, in denen die bekannten Charaktere aus dem The-Walking-Dead-Universum in stilisiert und stark reduzierter Form zu sehen sind. Neben wenigen und vor allem kantigen Cutscenes bekommt man sehr oft die minimal animierten Low-Poly-Figuren zu sehen und liest die eingeblendeten Texte – es gibt keine Sprachausgabe. Die eigentliche Geschichte ist eher Beiwerk, das ganz ordentlich von Mission zu Mission f\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n

Auch die Kreuzung aus dem gewohnten Bridge Constructor mit The Walking Dead funktioniert ganz gut, kommt aber nicht an die kreative Energie von Bridge Constructor: Portal<\/a> heran. Der Br\u00fccken-, Fallen- und Sprungschanzenbau ist sinnvoll in das Zombie-Universum \u00fcbertragen worden und wurde mit Spezialaktionen der heldenhaften Charaktere erg\u00e4nzt – und zwischendurch werden immer wieder Untote erledigt. Zumindest werden so die eingesch\u00e4nkten Bauelemente etwas kaschiert. Stellenweise sind die Herausforderungen sogar richtig kreativ gestaltet und erfordern ein Um-die-Ecke-denken. Unterm Strich solide, aber erz\u00e4hlerisch und visuell nur mager inszenierte Unterhaltung f\u00fcr R\u00e4tselfreunde.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
