Jede Partie verl\u00e4uft in Runden: Sobald ein Feind stirbt, muss er sich bis zum Ende des Zeitlimits oder des Team-Sieges gedulden; danach startet die n\u00e4chste Runde. F\u00fcr jede gewonnene Partie, jede angesprochene oder gerettete Geisel bekommt ihr Geld, das ihr in Waffen, Munition und sonstige Ausr\u00fcstung investieren k\u00f6nnt. Wichtige Deckungsm\u00f6glichkeiten k\u00f6nnen wegfallen oder liegen urpl\u00f6tzlich im Weg. Seltsam ist allerdings, dass die Charaktere manchmal von heranrollenden Objekte abprallen, als\u00a0w\u00fcrden sie aus Gummi bestehen; hier wird hoffentlich noch nachgebessert.

Und wenn ihr irgendwo runtergesprungen seid, k\u00f6nnt ihr erst nach einem Sekundenbruchteil weiter laufen. Die Charaktere werden\u00a0auch von der Physik beeinflusst und gleiten nach dem Ableben\u00a0z.B. langsam eine Schr\u00e4ge runter oder werden von detonierenden Granaten durch die Luft geschleudert –\u00a0der\u00a0Ragdoll-Effekt ist also enthalten. Apropos virtuelle Realit\u00e4t: Die Einschussl\u00f6cher sind bei allen Models pixelgenau zu sehen, sogar bei den Geiseln.

Grafik-Power<\/strong>

Der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Unterschied zur alten Version\u00a0besteht zweifelsohne\u00a0in der\u00a0Grafik, die zwar nicht wie eben schon beschrieben vor Details strotzt, aber dennoch Schritt in das neue Jahrtausend f\u00fcr CS einl\u00e4utet: S\u00e4mtliche Karten sind mit schicken Shader-Effekten (u.a. Lichtspiegelungen auf dem Boden), hochaufl\u00f6senden Texturen, anisotropischem Filter und sonstigem High-Tech-Firlefanz \u00fcberzogen, so dass man seine geliebten Karten erst beim zweiten Hinblick erkennt. So protzt DE_Aztec mit schicken Wasserspiegelungen, DE_Piranesi mit gl\u00e4nzenden Fliesen, w\u00e4hrend DE_Dust endlich dem Namen alle Ehre macht, weil \u00fcberall Nebel sowie Staub zu sehen ist. Besonders h\u00fcbsch ist CS_Havanna geworden, da die gesamte Karte in stimmungsvolles d\u00fcsteres Abendlicht getaucht ist. Ansonsten versch\u00f6nern dezent platzierte Objekte die Karten, wie Baldachins auf DE_Dust. Getreu dem Motto: Je weniger, desto mehr! Sehr sch\u00f6n gelungen sind ebenfalls die Verwisch- bzw. Blendeffekte bei Flashbangs (Blendgranaten) inklusive kurzzeitiger Taubheit.

Auch die Geiseln haben ein Face-Lifting bekommen.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure><\/figure>Bei den Charakter-Modellen hat Valve Software ebenfalls nachgelegt: Die ohnehin schon schicken Polygon-Drahtger\u00fcste der Kontrahenten wurden nachhaltig verbessert und laufen mit zus\u00e4tzlichen Animationsphasen weitaus geschmeidiger und flie\u00dfender \u00fcber die Karten. Schade ist allerdings, dass es lediglich ein Modell f\u00fcr jede Seite gibt. Alle Terroristen und Spezialtruppen sehen folglich gleich aus – f\u00fcr Dezember plant Valve\u00a0jedoch erste neue Modelle.

Am teilweise etwas umst\u00e4ndlichen Men\u00fcsystem beim Waffenkauf haben die Entwickler allerdings nichts wirklich Nennenswertes verbessert, so dass\u00a0selbstgebastelte Buy-Skripts wohl wieder Einzug halten. Als kleine Entsch\u00e4digung daf\u00fcr haben die Geiseln ein Face-Lifting mit kostenloser Gehirnvergr\u00f6\u00dferung bekommen:\u00a0Sie sehen nicht nur wesentlich h\u00fcbscher aus, sondern sind deutlich intelligenter geworden, wenn sie z.B. hinter euch zum Rettungspunkt herlaufen. Ein H\u00e4ngenbleiben an den T\u00fcrrahmen oder Kisten ist fast ausgeschlossen.

Schon bei Counter-Strike war der Sound enorm wichtig, da man selbst im Uralt-Stereo klar h\u00f6ren konnte, ob ein Feind von links oder rechts angelaufen kommt. Und da Counter-Strike: Source sogar 5.1 und 7.1 Sound-Systeme unterst\u00fctzt, k\u00f6nnt ihr die heranst\u00fcrmenden Feinde jetzt besser akustisch lokalisieren – jedoch st\u00f6ren einige\u00a0uralte Sounds, die 1:1 \u00fcbernommen wurden.

Obwohl\u00a0es keine\u00a0nennenswerten spielerischen Neuerungen gibt, fesselt das altbekannte Spielprinzip von der ersten Sekunde an. Kein Wunder, denn\u00a0das Waffenarsenal ist immer noch hervorragend ausbalanciert und die Karten bieten viel Platz f\u00fcr taktisches Teamplay –\u00a0auch, wenn es nur neun davon gibt. W\u00e4hrend\u00a0sich\u00a0Gameplay und Karten\u00a0konservativ an den Vorg\u00e4nger halten,\u00a0sorgt die Physik-Engine mit ihren Explosionen und dem Ragdoll-Verhalten f\u00fcr ein neues\u00a0Gef\u00fchl von Realismus.\u00a0Und endlich\u00a0k\u00f6nnen auch Grafik und Soundkulisse protzen:\u00a0Es gibt tolle Spezial-Effekte,\u00a0feine Spieler-Modelle und\u00a0sowohl 5.1- als auch\u00a07.1 Surround-Unterst\u00fctzung. Trotzdem wird es vielleicht einige Zeit dauern, bis\u00a0sich die Masse der\u00a0CS-Fans mit dem Neuling in die Online-Arena wagt.
