“DoA2” bietet 12 K\u00e4mpfer mit unterschiedlichen Kampfstilen zur Auswahl, wobei f\u00fcr die m\u00e4nnliche Bev\u00f6lkerung eigentlich nur die Frauen mit \u00e4u\u00dferst weit ausgepr\u00e4gten Kurven als Spielfiguren interessant sind. Obwohl man das Spiel nicht mit Soul Calibur vergleichen kann (hier wird ohne Waffen gek\u00e4mpft), bietet Tecmo ein deutlich realistischeres Gameplay. Die gnadenlose “Augen-Zu-und-Drauf”-Taktik funktioniert einfach nicht, denn sinnloses Zuschlagen hat bei den Gegner weitaus weniger Wirkung als Konterschl\u00e4ge und W\u00fcrfe. Gegnerische Angriffe k\u00f6nnen getrost nacheinander abgeblockt werden und im richtigen Moment mit dem richtigen Timing bringt man ihn mit der sogenannten “Free”-Taste aus dem Konzept, h\u00e4lt ihn fest und wirft ihn zu Boden. Bei den Turnierschaupl\u00e4tzen haben sich die Macher auch einiges ausgedacht: die Runde ist nicht einfach zu Ende, wenn einer der beiden Kontrahenten \u00fcber den Rand bef\u00f6rdert wird. Mit viel Energieverlust des Herunterfallenden wird der Kampf in einem tiefer gelegenem Stockwerk weitergef\u00fchrt.

Nachdem man einige Erfahrungen im Storymodus gesammelt hat, in dem man sich wie in einem Arcade-Modus bis zum \u00fcberm\u00e4chtig wirkendem Endgegner nach oben k\u00e4mpfen kann, sollte man unbedingt den Tag-Team-Modus ausprobieren. Diese Option bietet einen Kampf zu zweit entweder gegen ein CPU-Team, einen oder zwei menschliche Mitspieler. Das Besondere dabei ist, dass man sich jederzeit mit seinem Partner abwechseln und mit ein bisschen Geschick gemeinsame Tag-Combos und Team-Moves ausf\u00fchren kann. Es stehen auch andere Modi zur Verf\u00fcgung, wie der Team-Modus (bis zu f\u00fcnf K\u00e4mpfer pro Team pr\u00fcgeln sich nacheinander bis der oder die Letzte \u00fcbrigbleibt) oder der Survivalmodus, bei dem man so lange spielt, bis der Energiebalken aufgebraucht ist. Doch an Langzeitmotivation hat Tecmo nicht gedacht; keine Extrak\u00e4mpfer, Extralevels oder gar eine Bildergalerie, einfach nichts. Ein deutliches Minus!

Grafik\/ Sound<\/b>

Die Grafik von “DoA2” ist wirklich beeindruckend. Die Gesichter der K\u00e4mpfer haben ein plastisches aussehen und die Kleidung passt sich deren Bewegungen an. Die Kampfarenen sind sehr fl\u00fcssig erstellt worden, und es besteht nicht ein Hauch von Ladezeit beim schnellen Wechseln von Spielern wie im Tag-Team-Modus.
Der Sound ist optimal auf die Atmosph\u00e4re eingestellt und die K\u00e4mpfer leisten sich japanische Wortgefechte mit englischen Untertiteln.\n\n
