Duell der Klingen<\/strong>
Im Fokus der Entwicklung stand der Kampf zwischen Langschwertern, Katanas und anderen Hieb- und Stichwaffen \u2013 den Umfang haben die Entwickler aber arg vernachl\u00e4ssigt. Ein spartanisches Tutorial erkl\u00e4rt gerade mal einige Grundtechniken, die Endlos-K\u00e4mpfe gegen die KI langweilen schon nach wenigen Minuten und auch online stehen kaum Modi zur Verf\u00fcgung. Trotzdem macht es Spa\u00df, einem Free-for-all-Server beizutreten, einen der Spieler herauszufordern und die Klingen kreisen zu lassen: Sobald ich meinem Gegner gegen\u00fcberstehe, beginnt der Psychokrieg, weil ich nie wei\u00df, was mein Gegen\u00fcber als N\u00e4chstes startet. Manch einer umt\u00e4nzelt mich blitzschnell mit Ausweichbewegungen, Wandl\u00e4ufen und wirbelnden Kombos seines leichten Katanas, ein anderer wuchtet ein m\u00e4chtiges Langschwert zu gezielten Hieben durch die Luft. Einige Spieler bleiben auch stocksteif stehen und warten auf meine Attacke, um z.B. mit einem schwereren Schlag zu parieren und dann selbst nachzusetzen.

Seitliche Schl\u00e4ge lassen sich mit der entsprechenden Laufrichtung anbringen. Eine transparente Linie symbolisiert den voraussichtlichen Weg der Klinge. Auch Hiebe aus dem Sprung und Finten sind m\u00f6glich. \u00a9 4P\/Screenshot<\/div>\n<\/div>\nMit schnellen Klingen wie dem Katana kann ich nicht blocken, sondern mich nur mit geschickten Hieben aus der Aff\u00e4re ziehen. Diese Variationen und Unberechenbarkeiten sorgen f\u00fcr angenehm viel Adrenalin im Blut. Au\u00dferhalb der K\u00e4mpfe bleibt die kleine Community erfreulich freundlich: Die meisten Spieler starten ein Duell mit einer h\u00f6flichen Verbeugung und auch der Chat dreht sich eher um n\u00fctzliche Technik-Tipps als um Fl\u00fcche.
Schnell oder gewaltig?<\/strong>
Das Kampfsystem bietet einen gelungenen Kompromiss aus realistischen Schwertbewegungen und Arcade-Attacken: Die Angriffe filetieren das Gegen\u00fcber nicht sofort, sondern leeren stattdessen mit Kombos, aufgeladenen Hieben oder einem Griff die Energieanzeige. Je nach Wahl von Schwert und K\u00e4mpfer l\u00e4sst sich ein eigener Stil entwickeln, die grunds\u00e4tzliche Mechanik bleibt aber immer gleich: Attackiert wird stets mit der linken Maustaste oder dem R-Knopf des 360-Controllers. Mit den Tasten 1,2 und 3 l\u00e4sst sich aber die Haltung \u00e4ndern, so dass ich unterschiedlich starke Schl\u00e4ge vom Stapel lassen kann. Dazu kommen Kombos, w\u00e4hrend derer ich frei zwischen den Schlagst\u00e4rken wechsle.
Auch in der Defensive spielt die Haltung eine wichtige Rolle, denn wenn mein Gegner z.B. zu ein paar leichten Schl\u00e4gen ansetzt, kann ich sie aus dem passenden Winkel und der richtigen Distanz mit einem mittelschweren Hieb abwehren. N\u00fctzlich ist auch der Griff, mit dem ich einen unachtsamen Opponenten beim Schlawittchen packe, um ihn mit einer guten Portion Schadenfreude auf die Bohlen zu bef\u00f6rdern. Werde ich zu \u00fcberm\u00fctig, erwischt er mich allerdings von dort aus mit einem hinterh\u00e4ltigen Konter. Die schnelleren Figuren wirbeln oft akrobatisch durch die Arena \u2013 je nach Kombination mit einem Schwert lassen sich so pers\u00f6nliche Techniken ausarbeiten. Auch Degen befinden sich \u00fcbrigens im Repertoire.

Umfang, Spielmodi und das Design der Arenen wirken reichlich spartanisch und sorgen auf Dauer f\u00fcr Erm\u00fcdungserscheinungen. Trotzdem lohnt es sich, immer wieder einen Abstecher in die Kampfarenen zu wagen. Sobald ich erst einmal einen Gegner herausgefordert hatte, gestalteten sich die Gefechte meist erfreulich spannend und abwechslungsreich. Wer den Nervenkitzel schneller Schwertduelle mag, sollte also trotz der minimalistischen Ausstattung einen Blick riskieren.
