Das Automatik-Jump&Run<\/STRONG>

Jump&Runs… Man springt, man klettert, man entdeckt fantasiereiche Schaupl\u00e4tze. Doch wo man klassisch Tempo und Richtung vorgibt, hat sich heutzutage die iPhone-Mode etabliert: Der Held rennt ganz von selbst\u00a0– der rechtzeitige Knopfdruck l\u00e4sst ihn \u00fcber Hindernisse h\u00fcpfen oder gen Gegner kicken. So springt, kickt, blockt und schlittert also auch der Bit.Trip Runner auf Knopfdruck, rennt aber vollautomatisch durch Retroland.

Denn hier sieht alles aus wie Omas K\u00fcchengardinen: Aus einfarbigen K\u00e4stchen und einfachen Formen entstehen Felsen, Stolpersteine, Hintergrund und Bossgegner. Und sammelt der Runner bestimmte Extras, vermehrt er nicht nur sein Punktekonto\u00a0– dann zieht er auch einen pathetisch sch\u00f6nen Regenbogen hinter sich her.
<\/A><\/A><\/TD><\/TR>
Regenbogenretro: Bit.Trip Runner sieht fantastisch aus – spielt sich aber leider nicht so.<\/TD><\/TR><\/TBODY><\/TABLE><\/SPAN>Weil damals eben alles sch\u00f6ner war. Modern ist allenfalls die Arrangierung des \u00e4hnlich altmodischen Geklimpers, denn jeder H\u00fcpfer f\u00fcgt der Musik ein Pling zu, jeder Kick ein Rasseln, bei jedem gro\u00dfen Sprung spielt ein Jingle. Bestimmte Extras erweitern die erst n\u00fcchternen Beats um zus\u00e4tzliche Spuren, der Soundtrack kommt deshalb zum Schluss eines Levels erst richtig in Fahrt.

In-, auswendig und von vorn<\/STRONG>

Allerdings: Nach den ersten Abschnitten kennt man die Musik so in- und auswendig, dass man schon bald einen Melodiewechsel herbeisehnt. Ganze elf Levels lang bleibt die musikalische Abwechslung aber Wunschdenken; erst wenn man nach dem Endgegner im zw\u00f6lften Abschnitt die n\u00e4chste Zone betritt, klingt es endlich anders. Den Opa-Charme hat der Soundtrack dann l\u00e4ngst verwirkt.

Nun w\u00e4re das verkraftbar, w\u00fcrde das Spiel nicht mit dreister Selbstverst\u00e4ndlichkeit in diesen Minimalismus einstimmen. Und da wird’s eben kritisch. Drei Zonen, deren jeweils zw\u00f6lf Levels sich lediglich durch einen sch\u00fcchtern steigernden Schwierigkeitsgrad unterscheiden und selbst \u00e4u\u00dferlich frappierend \u00e4hneln\u00a0– wie lange will man schon \u00fcber dieselben St\u00f6cke und Steine sprinten? Sch\u00f6n, dass man in Bonusabschnitten, die sich kein bisschen anders spielen, mit zus\u00e4tzlichen Goldst\u00fccken den Punktestand vergr\u00f6\u00dfern kann, falls man im Level zuvor alle Goldst\u00fccke einsacken konnte. Denn beides ist durchaus knifflig. Dumm nur, dass s\u00e4mtliche Goldst\u00fccke meist auf dem einzigen m\u00f6glichen Weg liegen. Abzweigungen, die man in sp\u00e4teren Anl\u00e4ufen erkunden k\u00f6nnte, weil sie tief unter die Erde oder hoch in den Himmel f\u00fchren: Fehlanzeige.

Ego-Trip statt sch\u00fcchtern<\/STRONG>

Stattdessen h\u00fcpft der Runner st\u00e4ndig \u00fcber dieselben Versatzst\u00fccke und wird bei jedem Fehler an den Anfang des Levels zur\u00fcckgesetzt. Mehrere Lebenspunkte in abwechslungsreichen Umgebungen\u00a0–

<\/U><\/STRONG>F\u00fcr\u00a0WiiWare<\/STRONG> ist Bit.Trip Runner bereits vor einem knappen Jahr erschienen.\u00a0Wichtigster Unterschied<\/STRONG> ist der in drei Stufen einstellbare Schwierigkeitsgrad auf PC und Mac.<\/TD><\/TR><\/TBODY><\/TABLE><\/SPAN>das k\u00f6nnte eine motivierende, fordernde Herausforderung sein. Hier kennt man viel zu schnell alles auswendig und rennt nach jedem Versehen erst gelangweilt, dann genervt an bekannten, spielerisch oft belanglosen Kulissen vorbei.

Und dann kommen die sp\u00e4ten Abschnitte jeder Zone, in denen der Schwierigkeitsgrad wie verwandelt scheint. Von Sch\u00fcchternheit ist dann pl\u00f6tzlich keine Spur mehr: Schwierige Passagen sind dort die Regel und es gibt etliche Situationen, in denen man beim ersten Mal kaum rechtzeitig richtig reagieren kann. Also rennt man von vorne los und rennt, und rennt, und rennt…<\/P>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0

Fazit<\/strong><\/h3>Und wenn er nicht gestorben ist, dann rennt er gar noch heute\u00a0– \u00fcber W\u00e4lder und Flure, die an jeder Ecke gleich aussehen und selbst spielerisch kaum zu unterscheiden sind. Kleine Geschicklichkeitstests sind klasse! Retro ist super! Aber wenn das Spiel eine einfallslose Aneinanderreihung dr\u00f6ger Reaktionstests ist, dann rettet weder der gelungene Ansatz noch der schicke Aufzug. Schade, dass es nichts zu entdecken gibt. Schlimm, dass man sich entweder langweilt oder an unfairen Barrieren vor den Kopf gesto\u00dfen und auf Start zur\u00fcckgesetzt wird. Manchmal kann Bit.Trip Runner die bunte Flucht aus einem dr\u00f6gen Alltag sein. Meistens ist Bit.Trip Runner aber stures Auswendiglernen des ewig Gleichen statt spannender Geschicklichkeitstest. Irgendwo zwischen Zeitgeist und Nostalgie hat dieses Spiel leider den Anschluss verpasst.<\/div><\/div>
