Hier waren wir doch schon mal! Flotsam Island (nur)\u00a0leicht ver\u00e4ndert und bei Nacht. <\/TD><\/TR><\/TBODY><\/TABLE><\/SPAN>wird eine Episode eingeschoben, bei der bereits Geschehenes in einer R\u00fcckblende gezeigt wird. Das ist preisg\u00fcnstig und ein wohliger Wiedersehenseffekt stellt sich ein. Nicht\u00a0selten wird das von einer Handlung umrahmt, bei der der Held etwa im Koma liegt, ums \u00dcberleben k\u00e4mpft oder gar vor Gericht steht. Vielleicht erinnert sich noch jemand an die Folge von Stark Trek: The Next Generation, als Captain Picard von Q der Prozess gemacht wird. \u00c4hnliches hat dieses Mal Guybrush Threepwood zu \u00fcberstehen, denn auch er k\u00f6nnte ein Opfer der Justiz werden.

Dass eine solche Episode nicht ohne R\u00fcckblenden abgeht, versteht sich von selbst und Telltale ist schlie\u00dflich der Meister des Recycling, wie sie schon bei Sam& Max oder Wallace & Gromit gezeigt haben. Es l\u00e4sst sich daher nicht vermeiden, dass der Pirat auch bekannte Gesichter trifft. Auch in punkto Schaupl\u00e4tze ist Altbew\u00e4hrtes angesagt: Statt eine neue Insel zu sehen, wird man wieder nach Flotsam Island gesp\u00fclt, der Insel des ersten Teils. Immerhin gibt es auch wenige neue Charaktere wie den ehrenwerten Richter, der gleichzeitig den ortsans\u00e4ssigen Nachtclub schmei\u00dft. Man kann sogar einen Blick hineinwerfen, was sozusagen der erste Auftritt dort ist, denn bisher sah man ihn nur von au\u00dfen.

Der Prozess

Abgesehen von den erwarteten, aber vermeidbaren Wiederholungen ist der Prozess selbst unterhaltsam. Zwar sind die

Das Kodex der Piraten ist knallhart: Wer\u00a0eigene Leute\u00a0betr\u00fcgt, ist des Todes. Das ist nur bei Nichtpiraten erlaubt.\u00a0<\/TD><\/TR><\/TBODY><\/TABLE><\/SPAN>Vorw\u00fcrfe allesamt olle Kamellen aus den vergangenen Kapiteln, aber erstmals muss sich Guybrush daf\u00fcr vor den Beh\u00f6rden verantworten. Das Piratengesetz ist unerbittlich, denn es kennt keine Gnade, so dass es auch nicht hilft, dass er sich “nicht schuldig” bekennt. Das Urteil steht eigentlich von vorneherein fest, was sicher auch daran liegt, dass alle Zeugen l\u00fcgen wie gedruckt. Guybrush soll betrogen und getrickst haben, als er in der Vergangenheit auf sie traf.

Ansonsten ist der Prozess eher eine Farce, denn der Angeklagte kann sogar die U-Haft verlassen. Mit einem simplen Trick gelingt es ihm, die tumbe Wachmannschaft zu \u00fcberrumpeln – leider einer der wenigen Punkte, wo es mal wirklich darauf ankommt, was man sagt. Gutes Englisch ist ohnehin Grundvoraussetzung, denn sonst ist das Spiel genau so wenig zu verstehen wie so manche Inkonsequenzen in der Erz\u00e4hllogik: Als Guybrush die Insel erkundet, scheint niemand was dagegen zu haben, dass er sich dort tummelt. Noch nicht mal der schmierige Anwalt der Anklage. Vielleicht denken viele: Soll er doch seine Henkersmahlzeit nehmen! Denn eines ist sicher – wenn er verliert, wird er gnadenlos geh\u00e4ngt.

Eigentlich hat Guybrush ja Espunja Grande gefunden, das die Krankheit heilen kann, obwohl es eigentlich nur ein unscheinbarer Schwamm ist. Sogar Elaine ist infiziert, weshalb Guybrush das Artefakt unbedingt haben muss. Dummerweise ist es wie ein paar andere Sachen bei den Beweisst\u00fccken gelandet, die die d\u00fcrftigen Anklagepunkte unterstreichen sollen. Wie also rankommen, wenn der Gerichtsdiener sie wie ein Schie\u00dfhund bewacht? Reden scheint laut Piratenprozessordnung ebenfalls verboten.

Fazit<\/strong><\/h3>Obwohl die vierte und vorletzte Episode mit Seitenhieben auf Prozesse, Gerichte und Anw\u00e4lte \u00fcberzeugt, geh\u00f6rt sie doch zu den schw\u00e4cheren Kapitel von Tales of Monkey Island. Das liegt daran, dass man sich mal wieder auf bekanntem Gebiet tummelt und fast nur bekannte Gesichter sieht. Da fragt sich sogar der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Monkey Island-Fan irgendwann, ob es Telltale mit dem Charakter- und Schaupl\u00e4tze-Recycling nicht langsam \u00fcbertreibt. Was in der \u00d6kologie sinnvoll sein mag, sorgt beim leidenschaftlichen Adventure-Spieler nur f\u00fcr Frust. Statt sich \u00fcber das Wiedersehen zu freuen, fragt man sich, ob denen nix eingefallen ist, wenn man mal wieder durchs dunkel geratene\u00a0Hafenviertel von Flotsam Island tigert. Das gilt auch f\u00fcr die R\u00e4tsel, die ebenfalls in Routine erstarren. An der Stagnation k\u00f6nnen auch kleine kreative Einf\u00e4lle in der Prozessabwicklung, witzige Typen wie der Anwalt, an dem alles abperlt,,\u00a0oder gar das geheimnisvolle Monster nichts \u00e4ndern. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass sich der Held im Finale in alter Frische und mit neuen Impulsen zur\u00fcckmeldet.
