Mit dicken Knarren und unendlich Munition marodiert er durch ein monsterverseuchtes Mannheim (!), nachdem er seinen Auftrag (1. Kill, 2. Kill, 3. Kill) vom Forscher Hartmuth Griesgram erhalten hat. Sturmfront – The Mutant War: \u00dcbel Edition kommt zwar in englischer Sprache daher, doch Macher Sebastian de Andrade und sein Studio Andrade Games (das in Schw\u00e4bisch Hall angemeldet ist) k\u00f6nnen die Zuneigung zu markigen deutschen Begriffen nicht verbergen.<\/p>\n

Genug der Namen, so wird gespielt: Im Stil von japanischen Actionklassikern wie Capcoms Commando oder SNKs Ikari Warriors k\u00e4mpft man sich aus einer Top-Down-Persepktive durch die Level. Dank Twinstick-Steuerung ist es problemlos m\u00f6glich, in eine Richtung zu laufen, aber in die andere zu feuern. Apropos feuern: Siegfried teilt mit aufr\u00fcstbaren MGs, Raketenwerfer, einem an Contra erinnernden Spreadshot sowie seinem Flammenwerfer aus. Letzterer ist besonders wichtig, um Aliennester (aka Feindgeneratoren) auszubrennen, daf\u00fcr ist allerdings Benzin n\u00f6tig, das nur gelegentlich in Kanister-Form aufgesammelt werden kann. Ein markiges \u201eGasoliiiine\u201c des Ansagers erinnert Ballerfreunde an Metal Slug (\u201eHeavy Machinegun!\u201c), auf dem niedrigsten Schwierigkeitsgrad l\u00f6scht der Flammenwerfer nicht nur Feinde, sondern auch feindliche Kugeln aus – so sehen auch Gelegenheitsspieler das letzte der f\u00fcnf kurzen Levels. Spielerische Kniffe existieren kaum: Es gibt ein paar Portale zu Bonusr\u00e4umen und einige zerst\u00f6rbare Objekte – leider verzichtet Sturmfront auf eine Ausweichrolle ebenso wie auf einen Zweispieler-Modus. Das Spiel hat sich seine 18er Freigabe nicht nur mit der vulg\u00e4ren Sprache verdient: Siegfried schreitet zwischen brennenden Leichenhaufen umher, schie\u00dft hektoliterweise Blut aus seinen Feinden und liquidiert sogar betende Zivilisten. Wer mit dem zynisch-\u00fcbertriebenen Setting etwas anfangen kann, dem seien noch zwei weitere Andrade-Titel empfohlen: Im Shoot\u2019em-Up 1917 – The Alien Invasion DX beleidigt die Kampfpiloten Dr. Brunhild Stahlm\u00fcller ihre Gegner mit einem \u201dFriss Sauer\u00adkraut\u201d (erkennt ihr ein Muster?), im letzte Woche ver\u00f6ffentlichten Heidelberg 1693<\/a> schie\u00dft man sich mit einer Muskete durch eine bluttriefende Castlevania-Hommage.\n

Fazit<\/strong><\/h3>Eben weil ich das Spiel und seine Botschaft, sofern es denn eine besitzt, nicht ernst nehme, hatte ich durchaus Spa\u00df mit diesem altmodischen Baller-Happen. Sturmfront erfindet weder das Twinstick-Shooter-Rad neu noch f\u00fcgt es seinen Arcade-Vorbildern, von denen es Ende der 1980er viele gab, nennenswerte spielerische Aspekte hinzu. Was bleibt, ist ein blutr\u00fcnstiger, von treibenden Metalriffs untermalter Kurztrip in ein bizarres Pixel-Mannheim, das vor allem jenen Spielern gefallen d\u00fcrfte, die schon in den 1980ern Spa\u00df mit Telespielen hatten. Ein paar mechanische Kniffe (Waffenwechsel, Ausweichrolle, Granaten) oder wenigstens ein Zweispieler-Modus h\u00e4tte diesem Indietitel aber gut getan.<\/div><\/div>
