Kompositionen und Instrumente als zentraler Bestandteil eines Action-Rollenspiels? Das gab es meines Wissens noch nicht. Doch genau dort setzt Aerea an: Alles in der farbenfrohen sowie comichaften Fantasy-Welt Aezir beruht auf Musik. Genauer: Auf der magischen Kraft, die Instrumenten sowie Notenbl\u00e4ttern innewohnt und alles miteinander verbindet \u2013 quasi die melodi\u00f6se Form der Star-Wars\u2019schen Macht. Und wo es Nutzen gibt, wird es nat\u00fcrlich auch Antagonisten geben, die diese Macht f\u00fcr ihre Zwecke manipulieren wollen. In Aezir ist dies der b\u00f6se Demetrio, der mit seinem Freund Guido die Kraft der Musik entdeckt hat, diese aber nutzen m\u00f6chte, um die Menschen zu unterjochen. Es kommt zu einem heftigen Streit, an deren Ende die Kraft der ausgel\u00f6sten Musik daf\u00fcr sorgt, dass Aezir in verschiedene Teile gesprengt wird. Vier Musik-Studenten werden damit beauftragt, die neun urspr\u00fcnglichen Musikinstrumente zu finden, um das Land wieder zu heilen.

Mit mehr Spielern macht Aerea mehr Spa\u00df. Dadurch wird aus den tr\u00e4gen Auseianandersetzungen aber noch lange kein unterhaltsames Spiel. \u00a9 4P\/Screenshot<\/div>\n<\/div>\nWahlweise bis zu vier Spieler k\u00f6nnen kooperativ in die Rolle der Helden schl\u00fcpfen. Jacques k\u00e4mpft mit einem Cello. Jules nutzt eine Laute, um die Gegner zu dezimieren. Und Wolff ist mit einer Harfe unterwegs, w\u00e4hrend Claude sich auf eine Trompete verl\u00e4sst. Obwohl dies ziemlich abenteuerlich klingt, verstecken sich hinter diesen Bewaffnungen weitgehend klassische Hack&Slay-Archetypen. Jacques z.B. ist der klassische Ritter\/Paladin, dessen gro\u00dfb\u00e4uchiges Instrument als Schild genutzt wird und der Bogen den Job eines Schwertes \u00fcbernimmt. Hinter den dualen Trompeten von Claude schlummert die Funktionalit\u00e4t von Pistolen, w\u00e4hrend Wollfs Harfe einem Bogen gleicht und Jules mit seiner Laute quasi den Job eines klassischen Magiers \u00fcbernimmt.

Der Kaufmann bietet viele Hilfsmittel an. \u00a9 4P\/Screenshot<\/div>\n<\/div>\nUnd nachdem man registriert hat, dass die Klassen sich nur hinter den Instrumenten verstecken anstatt konventionelle Fantasy-Waffen zu nutzen, f\u00e4llt einem auch ziemlich schnell auf, dass Aerea abseits der Musik und des auf \u201emusikalisch\u201c getrimmten Artdesigns inhaltlich sehr bieder ist. Es gibt keine melodi\u00f6sen Kombos oder gar die Option, durch im Takt ausgef\u00fchrte Angriffe Bonusschaden anzurichten. Und das war eigentlich das Mindeste, was ich von Aerea als sich um Musik drehendes Action-Rollenspiel erwartet hatte. Zumal Timing-basierte Systeme (und damit Rhythmus nicht un\u00e4hnlich) auch schon\u00a0 im 16 Jahre alten Summoner (eines von Volitions Fr\u00fchwerken) ihren Dienst verrichteten. Doch hier ist es sehr simpel: Gegner, Knopf dr\u00fccken, Angriff, Gegner weg, n\u00e4chster Gegner usw. Da sich Aerea zudem auf eine sehr \u00fcberschaubare Figurenentwicklung mit nur wenigen Spezialf\u00e4higkeiten verl\u00e4sst, werden die K\u00e4mpfe trotz der teils exzellenten Musik aus der Feder von Broforce-Komponist Deon Van Heerden schnell zu einer banalen Nebenbesch\u00e4ftigung. Umso mehr, da es hier keinerlei Beute abzustauben gibt, so dass die Diablo\u2019sche “Loot”-Motivation hier \u00fcberhaupt nicht zum Tragen kommt.

Nicht nur mechanisch, auch hinsichtlich der Kulisse zeigt sich Aerea bieder und bietet das \u00fcbliche Spektrum von W\u00e4ldern bis Lavah\u00f6hlen. \u00a9 4P\/Screenshot<\/div>\n<\/div>\nDementsprechend spielt sich Aerea eher wie die 2014 ver\u00f6ffentlichte Neuinterpretation von Gauntlet \u2013 ohne allerdings deren Charme oder Dynamik zu erreichen. Denn daf\u00fcr laufen die K\u00e4mpfe hier gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils zu tr\u00e4ge ab, was neben der spartanischen Figuren-Entwicklung und der bunten Kulisse daf\u00fcr spricht, dass sich Aerea vorrangig an eine j\u00fcngere Spielergeneration richten soll. Doch die d\u00fcrfte auch mit den sporadischen Schalterr\u00e4tseln oder den meist viel zu leicht auszuman\u00f6vrierenden Fallen kaum Motivation finden, in die oberfl\u00e4chliche Musikm\u00e4rchenwelt einzutauchen. Alles wirkt irgendwie bekannt: Das Kampfsystem, die grunds\u00e4tzlichen Figurenklassen \u2013 selbst die Kulisse gibt sich trotz interessanter Ans\u00e4tze mit den Umsetzungen \u00fcblicher Schaupl\u00e4tze wie Kanalisationen, Dschungel oder Lavawelten sehr bieder. Doch mittlerweile gibt es nicht nur die Spiele eines Diablo-Kalibers, mit denen Aerea konkurrieren muss. Viele Free-to-play-Titel ziehen vor allem hinsichtlich des Kurzzeit-Spa\u00dfes an dem ambitionierten, aber nicht gut durchdachten Action-Einerlei vorbei.\n

Fazit<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nBei Hack&Slays werde ich schwach. Musikspielen bin ich auch nicht abgeneigt. Daher hatte ich gro\u00dfe Hoffnungen in Aerea gesetzt, dass diese beiden Elemente (zumindest an der Oberfl\u00e4che) zu vereinen versucht. Doch unter dem Strich ist das musikalische Abenteuer nur ein bieder inszenierter Gauntlet-Klon mit tr\u00e4gem Kampfsystem. Dass Aerea auf Beute verzichtet: Geschenkt. Doch auch der kurzzeitig einigerma\u00dfen unterhaltende Koop-Modus kann die Schw\u00e4chen nicht kaschieren. Allen voran das stereotype Spieldesign, dass die Chance, Musik und Rhythmus als essentiellen Bestandteil des Kampfsystems zu etablieren, vollkommen ungenutzt verstreichen l\u00e4sst. Dabei ist die erz\u00e4hlerische Basis durchaus interessant. Doch was am Ende herauskommt, ist magerer Durchschnitt, der auch hartgesottene Hack&Slay-Anh\u00e4nger, die “alles” spielen m\u00fcssen, was Ihnen als J\u00e4ger und Sammler vor die Flinte kommt, nicht lange besch\u00e4ftigen wird.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
