Wem macht es nicht Spaß, sich seine eigene kleine Welt aufzubauen? Festzulegen, wann welcher Bus wohin fährt oder wie schnell die eigene Stadt wächst, in der man alles machen kann, was man möchte. Genau das bringt “Der VerkehrsGigant” nach Hause auf den heimischen PC.

Das Ziel des Spiels ist recht simpel: Es gilt eine große Stadt mit Bussen, Bahnen und Zügen auszustatten, das Image aufzubessern und die Einwohner dazu zu bewegen, mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu fahren. Zwar kann man einfach drauf losspielen, sinnvoller ist es jedoch sich vorher genau zu überlegen, wo man z.B. welche Linien einsetzt.

Spielbarkeit/Gameplay

Die Menüführung benötigt ein wenig Gewöhnung und ein kurzes Studium der Anleitung um wichtige Symbole zu verstehen. Doch wenn man erst einmal alles im Köpfchen hat, macht es viel Spaß seine eigene Infrastruktur zu aufzubauen. Es gibt drei verschiedene Zoomstufen, wobei allerdings nur die mittlere gut zu gebrauchen ist. Die anderen sind entweder zu groß oder zu klein, obwohl sie zur genaueren Ansicht der Einwohner bzw. zur Übersicht völlig ausreichen.

Die KI (Künstliche Intelligenz) des Spiel ist sehr realistisch gestaltet worden. So benutzen die Einwohner nur maximal vier verschiedene öffentliche Verkehrsmittel um an ihr Ziel zu gelangen. Müssten sie viermal umsteigen, werden sie mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit keine Busse, Bahnen oder Züge mehr benutzen. Um es einfacher für den Spieler zu gestalten, arbeiten z.B. alle Männer eines Wohnblocks in der selben Arbeitsstelle – dies gilt auch für die Kinder und Frauen, nach dem Motto: gleiches Wohnhaus, gleiche Arbeitsstelle, bzw. Freizeiteinrichtung, die an jedem Wochenende besucht wird.

Der Realismus kann leider nicht perfekt umgesetzt werden. Zwar gibt es manchmal Polizeieinsätze, aber von denen hört man leider nur die Polizeisirene. Unfälle, Einbrüche, Feuer usw. wurden nicht integriert. Es handelt sich schließlich um eine Aufbausimulation. Wem das nun etwas zu fade klingt, der sollte sich das Spiel trotzdem mal ansehen und sich mitreißen lassen. Denn wem Aufbausimulationen gefallen, wird bestimmt sehr viel Freude an “Der VerkehrsGigant” finden.
