Fazit

Endlich bekommt The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners einen würdigen Nachfolger – auch in technischer Hinsicht. Die motivierenden Plündertouren durch das von Walkern verseuchte New Orleans besaßen schon auf der Quest 2 Potenzial – doch erst auf der Playstation VR2 konnte ich herrlich flüssig und immersiv in den Mix aus wuchtigen Kämpfen, Crafting und kleinen Entscheidungen abtauchen, statt mich mit vielen kleinen Bugs und verzögerten Schlägen herumzuärgern. Düstere Atmosphäre, vorsichtige Planung, schwere Waffen und manuelles Nachladen ergeben wieder eine faszinierende Mischung. Abgesehen von kleinen Grafikfehlern wie verdrehten Köpfen sind mir auf Sonys Konsole bisher keine technischen Probleme aufgefallen. Auch wenn die Umsetzung mit ihrem leichten Comic-Einschlag nicht an Grafik-Highlights wie Resident Evil Village oder Half-Life: Alyx heranreicht, sollten PC-VR-Nutzer eine zeitgemäße Hardware mitbringen. Mit meiner betagten GeForce 2080 Ti musste ich schon deutlich herunterregeln, damit es zumindest größtenteils flüssig blieb. Im Gegenzug bekommen PC-Spieler aber einen Hauch mehr Details sowie eine feiner wirkende Beleuchtung geboten. Für den Preis von 39,99 Euro hat Skydance Interactive zwar erstaunlich viele Spielelemente recycelt, im Gegenzug gibt es aber immerhin einige coole Neuerungen wie die Kettensäge und frische, knifflige Areale. Insgesamt also ein fesselnder VR-Überlebenskampf, der in den aktuellen Umsetzungen auch technisch stärker überzeugt.
