Gefangen in einer fremden Welt

In Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris verschlägt es Serien-Protagonist Kirito in eine neue virtuelle Online-Welt namens Underworld. Anders als in früheren Meta-Rollenspielen der Serie, wie Alfheim Online, Sword Art: Origin oder GunGale Online weiß der passionierte Spieler dieses Mal allerdings nicht, wo er eigentlich ist und wie er hierher kam. Als er auf einer kleinen Waldlichtung zu sich kommt, ist ihm die Umgebung völlig fremd, sein Gedächtnis wie ausradiert. Zudem kann er weder irgendwelche Menüs öffnen, noch sich aus dem Spiel ausloggen…

Als er auf einen jungen Holzfäller namens Eugeo trifft, lädt dieser ihn ein, mit in sein Dorf zu kommen, bis seine Erinnerungen zurückkehren. Doch dann erfährt Kirito, dass Eugeos Kindheitsfreundin Alice, deren Name auch ihm vertraut vorkommt, wegen eines Vergehens von rigiden Ordnungshütern verschleppt wurde – und so beschließen die beiden, alles daranzusetzen, um sie zurückzuholen. Doch das ist nur der Auftakt eines mehrere Dutzend Stunden umfassenden Abenteuers in einer Welt, die ein düsteres Geheimnis birgt.

Die einzelnen Areale der automatisch kartografierten Spielwelt sind meist sehr weitläufig und laden mit ihren Schluchten, Bergen und Wäldern zum Erkunden ein. An bereits besuchte Orte darf man über Schnellreisepunkte zurückkehren. Ansonsten kann man Schreine mit speziellen Herausforderungen entdecken, Rohstoffe für Handwerksarbeiten sammeln, in Gewässern schwimmen und angeln, Ranken emporklettern, versteckte Schätze finden sowie Koch- und Crafting-Pausen einlegen. Außerdem gilt es natürlich, Kämpfe gegen allerlei friedliche und angriffslustige Kreaturen bestreiten.

Zu den Waffen!

Die Auseinandersetzungen ähneln denen aus Hollow Realization und laufen direkt an Ort und Stelle in Echtzeit ab: Kirito kann bis zu drei aktive Kameraden, deren Kontrolle man jederzeit auf Knopfdruck übernehmen kann, im Schlepptau haben sowie den Umgang mit acht verschiedenen Waffengattungen lernen; die reichen von Schwertern und Dolchen über Peitschen und Kolben bis hin zu Pfeil und Bogen. Je öfter man eine Waffenart einsetzt, umso besser beherrscht man sie. Das gleiche gilt für die wechselbaren Charakterrollen wie Angreifer, Verteidiger oder Buffer.

Neben Sprung- und Standardangriffen sind auch Blocks, Paraden, Ausweichschritte, Würfe und Konter möglich. Hinzu kommen individuell wähl-, anpass- und aufladbare Waffenfertigkeiten, deren Ausführung allerdings ausreichend Energie voraussetzt. Allgemeine Fertigkeiten sind hingegen mit Reaktivierungzeiten behaftet. Der Einsatz von Verbrauchsgegenständen wie z. B. Heilkräutern ist ebenfalls möglich. Um bestimmte Gegner nicht aus dem Blick zu verlieren, kann man sie außerdem als Ziele fixieren.

    Meiner Meinung nach braucht man keine Vorkenntnisse. Kiritos Partner Eugeo und Co. sind ja ebenfalls neu und bekommen quasi alles Wichtige bzw. Unbekannte kurz erläutert ;)
