Fazit

Unter dem Strich präsentiert sich die Schlacht um Bikini Bottom als ein spielerisch zwar wenig innovatives, aber dennoch unterhaltsames Jump&Run: Dafür sorgen die gute Cartoon-Optik im Stil der Serie, die offene Spielumgebung, die gelungene Steuerung und die feine Soundkulisse. Vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her wird zwar ein jüngeres Publikum angesprochen, doch auch die etwas älteren Schwammkopf-Fans dürften ihren Spaß haben. Es fehlt zwar ein gutes Stück zu Kalibern wie z.B. Ratchet & Clank 2 oder Beyond Good & Evil, doch das Abenteuer verströmt sofort das Flair der TV-Serie und präsentiert sich als eine der besten Lizenz-Umsetzungen der letzten Monate – auch wenn der ganz große Wurf nicht gelungen ist.
Wer die Qual der Systemwahl hat, braucht sich auf Grund nur marginaler grafischer Unterschiede der drei Versionen eigentlich nur die Frage stellen, ob er eine deutsche (PS2) oder englische Version (Xbox, GameCube) will.

  1. Ihr habt vergessen zu erwähnen, daß das Game zum Low-Budget-Preis von 29,- angeboten wird.
    Hab\'s mir gleich mal geholt und kann mich dem Review nur anschließen.
    Das Wichtigste beim Jump\'n Run, die Steuerung, ist auch ordentlich gelungen.
    Macht echt Spass das Spiel, so für zwischendurch!

  4. In den USA ist die Cartoon-Serie SpongeBob Squarepants längst Kult und auch in Deutschland ist der saugfähige Held unter dem Namen SpongeBob Schwammkopf bei den Kids extrem beliebt. Und wie es mittlerweile üblich ist, soll der Erfolg auch spielerisch umgemünzt werden. Ob es THQ zusammen mit den Heavy Iron Studios gelungen ist, den Gelbling in der Schlacht um Bikini Bottom zu ansehnlichem virtuellem Leben zu erwecken, könnt ihr im Test erfahren.
