Fazit

Juhu, endlich konnte ich mal wieder meinen geliebten Flightstick entstauben, der seit Crimson Skies und Tachyon – The Fringe nutzlos in der Ecke herumlungerte. Okay, von einer Simulation ist Rebel Raiders ungefähr so weit entfernt wie ein Braunbär vom Tangotanzen, aber als spaßig-hirnfreier Arcade-Shootout macht es seine Sache ziemlich gut. Ein schnelles Ballern hier, ein zünftiges Raketenschmeißen da – heissa, da brennt die Luft! Wenn, ja wenn diese Nervigkeiten nicht wären: Das geht bei der KI los, die zwar reichlich dumpfbackig wie eine Eintagsfliege immer die gleichen Routen abfliegt, aber gerade beim Kurvenverhalten viel zu bevorteilt ist. Und ein anspruchsvoller Schwierigkeitsgrad ist im Grunde eine prima Sache, wenn er nicht ins Unfaire abdriftet – was hier aufgrund der kaugummigartig in die Länge gezogenen Missionen und der nutzneutralen Wingmen sehr oft passiert. Spaß macht’s in kurzen Dosen trotzdem, gerade zu dem sehr fairen Preis.

  1. So spät der Test?
    Das Spiel ist doch schon ewig aufm Markt (zumindest in der Videothek erhältlich).
    Naja, wer auf solche Spiele steht, sollte es sich auf jeden Fall mal anschauen, wem solche Spiele allerdings fremd sind, sollte davon dann doch lieber die Finger lassen oder erst einmal aus einer Videothek ausleihen und antesten.

Einmal Jagdpilot sein: mit brüllenden Motoren vom Rollfeld abheben, mit Mach 2 auf Entenjagd gehen, sich heiße Luftduelle liefern, zischenden Raketen ausweichen, Top Gun hat’s schließlich vorgemacht!
