Fazit

Crystal Dynamics, vor allem bekannt durch die Legacy Of Kain-Reihe und Jump’n’ Runs wie Gex, hat mit Project Snowblind ein recht beeindruckendes Erstlingswerk im Egoshooter-Bereich vorgelegt. Zwar sind durch die Mitarbeit von Ion Storm die Parallelen zu Deus Ex 2 unverkennbar (ursprünglich wurde der Titel als Spin-Off entwickelt), doch setzt Snowblind den Schwerpunkt eindeutig auf Action und das ist gut so. Die Entwickler verstehen es von der ersten Minute an, euch in ein atmosphärisch dichtes Kriegsgeschehen zu katapultieren. Die Schleichpassagen sind dagegen kaum der Rede wert und werden schnell wieder vom Balleralltag abgelöst. Auch die Story kommt nur schwer in Gang, hebt sich aber erfreulich durch das noch unverbrauchte China-Szenario von der Konkurrenz aus dem Weltkriegs- und Vietnamlager ab. Insgesamt ist Project Snowblind ein grundsolider und schön präsentierter Shooter, der das Genre nicht neu definiert, aber sowohl in der Kampagne als auch in Multiplayer-Matches für gute Unterhaltung sorgt.

    Die beiden von dir angesprochenen Kritikpunkte habe ich im Text aufgeführt...

    Neben der relativ kurzen Einspieler-Kampagne

    Ein weiteres Manko bilden die Speicherräume: Manchmal erscheinen sie ziemlich überflüssig, da sie kurz vor Levelende platziert wurden, ein anderes Mal sehnt ihr euch einen Speicherraum regelrecht herbei – der natürlich nicht kommen wird.
    Dennoch kann man sagen, dass man in der kurzen Spielzeit der Solo-Kampagne gut unterhalten wird...und es gibt ja auch immer noch den Multiplayer-Modus.
