Fazit

Ein wunderbarer Start ins Jahr für Metroidvania-Fans! Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown dürfte die meisten Genre-Liebhaber wunschlos glücklich machen. Wieder einmal beweisen die Entwickler von Ubisoft Montpellier, dass sie wissen, wie sich ein 2D-Titel in Sachen Sprinten und Springen anzufühlen hat und zaubern griffiges Gameplay von den Zehen bis in die Dreadlocks von Protagonist Sargon. Neben der Akrobatik wissen auch die Kämpfe zu begeistern, die trotz geringer Waffenauswahl überraschend viel Komplexität aufweisen können und mit Paraden und Ausweichrutschern einen fluffigen Flow entfalten – vor allem bei den knackigen Bosskämpfen. Innovation sucht man abseits der Erinnerungsfragmente zwar vergebens, dafür entpuppen die sich als geniales Feature, das die Erkundung eine ganze Ecke angenehmer macht. Verschmerzbare Schnitzer leistet sich The Lost Crown letztendlich nur noch bei der eher mäßig spannenden Geschichte und der Präsentation, die mit ihren abgeschliffenen 3D-Modellen alles in allem etwas austauschbar wirkt. Trotz kleinerer Abstriche steckt hinter dem neuen Prince of Persia-Ableger also ein hervorragender Genre-Vertreter, der hinter den Spitzenreitern wie Hollow Knight und Ori and the Will of the Wisps nur knapp zurücksteht und damit exzellente Unterhaltung für Metroidvania-Enthusiasten bietet.

Damit kann ich Zeugs kaufen bei nem Händler oder meine Waffe um ein stiiinklangweiles schaden% erhöhen. In einem Metroidvania will ich Fähigkeiten finden. Kann natürlich sein, dass es in der Vollversion lohnenderes zu finden gibt, aber hier hatte ich nach 2 Truhen mit Kristallen schon keinen Bock mehr auf Kristalle. Klar: Metroid ist hier auch nicht perfekt, weil Missile Upgrades dich auch schnell nicht mehr jucken, aber trotzdem ist's da iwie geiler.
    Führt zumindest nicht dazu, dass einem Upgrades fehlen, weil man sie nicht gefunden hat.
