Fazit

Ihr seid Entwickler und wollt unbedingt ein „Game as a Service“ anbieten? Dann schaut euch bitte vorher dringend an, was Sean Murray und Co. seit dem Start der problematischen Ur-Version von No Man‘s Sky mit diesem Spiel angestellt haben. Keine Seasons, keine Battlepasses, keine Mikrotransaktionen. Stattdessen: Inhalt, Inhalt und nochmals Inhalt. Dass auf diesem Weg ebenfalls längst nicht alles glattlief und es viele Hotfixes und Patches brauchte – geschenkt. Denn zum Launch von PS5 und Xbox Series X | S wird ein vier Jahre altes Spiel für Vorbesitzer gratis auf die Next-Gen übertragen und bietet dabei einen so deutlichen Sprung bei Kulisse und Performance, dass der Begriff „Remaster“ hier durchaus angebracht gewesen wäre. Die „Next Generation“-Variante von No Man‘s Sky ist die mit Abstand beste Konsolenversion der unendlichen Weltraum-Sandbox und es bleibt eigentlich nur zu hoffen, dass Hello Games mit No Man‘s Sky weiterhin genug Umsatz generieren, um dieses einmalige Spiel auch in Zukunft weiter zu entwickeln.

  1. Hmm. Runtergeladen, "kurz mal angefangen" und zack: hooked. Da denkt man sich nix bei so nem 15GB Leichtgewicht, so nem Spiel, welches "verbessert" wurde, so nem Beiprodukt des Gamepass, so nem simplen Sammelspielchen, mit dieser seltsamen Optik, ohne Sprachausgabe, von diesen unfähigen Devs ... und dann?

    Am PC ist es momentan bereits möglich, die Next Gen-Pracht komplett in VR zu geniessen, da man die grafischen Verbesserungen des Next Gen Updates via "Ultra"-Option im Menü einstellen kann. Die Verbesserungen in Sachen Weitsicht, Detailfülle, Licht- und Oberflächeneffekte in VR ist ebenfalls enorm und mit einer RTX-Grafikkarte ist die Performance nahezu ruckelfrei. Popups sind zwar noch vorhanden, aber deutlich weniger geworden. Einfach ein Traum momentan mit der Rift. Im Vergleich zu PSVR fast schon HD-Optik.

    Ich glaube nicht, dass zur Finanzierung von z.B. FIFA MTA "nötig" sind, das Spiel würde sich vermutlich auch über die Spielverkäufe ausreichend finanzieren. Aber MTAs bringen halt einen Riesenhaufen Geld Jahr für Jahr. Da kann EA mit bisschen Hate von den Core Gamern gut leben.
    Aber ich finde es auch schön, dass es Firmen gibt, die nicht auf die maximale Gewinnoptimierung zielen.
    NMS habe ich noch gar nicht gespielt, bin auch nicht die Kernzielgruppe. Trotzdem interessiert es mich und mit den laufenden neuen, positiv besprochenen Erweiterungen bleiben sie natürlich im Gespräch und ziehen damit vielleicht immer noch neue Spieler an.

  4. Ich spiele das Spiel seit 2017 immer wieder mal. Ich bin jedes Mal begeistert wieviel neues mit jedem Update kommt. Es ist einfach eine tolle Weltraum-Sandkiste geworden. Und ganz klar eine vielleicht nicht so realistische Alternative für Elite Dangerous aber dafür viel zugänglicher. Jetzt fehlen einfach nur noch tolle Geschichten und Quests die das alles wirklich auf eine neues Niveau heben. Dafür wäre ich auch bereit ins Portemonnaie zu greifen.

  5. Hatte mal reingeschaut vor ein paar Monaten, weil es eh im Gamepass war. Nachdem ich ein bisschen was craften musste, war mir klar, dass ich mir das Inventar nicht antun will.
