Fazit

Eine kleine Sammlung der Superlative: Monument Valley und sein Nachfolger gehören zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsspielen! Nicht zu meinen Smartphone-Lieblingsspielen, sondern zu jenem elitären Kreis aus über 30 Jahren Videospiel-Leidenschaft! Beide Titel sind außerdem bildschön und haben einen sehr aparten, ästhetisch ansprechenden Look – in meinem persönlichen Ranking sitzen sie neben Gris, Kirby und das magische Garn, Journey und Metal Slug ganz oben auf dem Thron (der nicht aus dreidimensionaler Polygon-Pracht gebaut ist). Verzeiht meine Schwärmerei – aber hier geht es nicht um eben mal noch auf Steam rausgeballerte Smartphone-Ports, sondern um außergewöhnlich gute Videospiele, die auch Jahre nach dem Original-Release makellos und anziehend sind. Und es bestimmt auch in zehn Jahren noch sein werden. Sie unterhalten mit klugen, wohldosierten Rätseln und belohnen regelmäßig mit erhellenden Momenten – man fühlt sich dabei wie Wicky, wenn er sich die Nase reibt. Kurzum: Die Monument Valleys sind simpel und klug zugleich, sie sind Wohlfühl-Spiele voller Wärme und Anmut. Wer die auf dem Smartphone oder Tablet verpasst hat, der sollte die Gelegenheit nutzen, sie am PC nachzuholen. Nur nicht zwingend am Steam Deck – denn dort nervt die suboptimale Touch-Steuerung.

    Die Android oder iOS Version habe ich nie gespielt, aber die Touchsteuerung fühlt sich wahrscheinlich direkter an. Ich genieße auf jeden Fall die PC-Version auf meinem 27" Monitor und guten Lautsprechern.

    Ich liebe MV1 und 2, habe beide gerne mehrfach am Tablet durchgespielt und damit auch meine Kindern an das Medium Videospiel herangeführt. Ich liebe den minimalistischen Grafikstil und wollte das eigentlich nochmals mit einem Kauf für mein im Oktober lieferbaren Steamdeck würdigen.
    Muss man am Steamdeck die verhunzte Touch Steuerung nutzen oder geht das auch mit Controllern?
