Fazit

Kurzweiliger Knobelspaß: So lässt sich Mario vs. Donkey Kong auch 20 Jahre nach dem ursprünglichen Release wohl immer noch am besten beschreiben. Die Level bieten unterhaltsame, wenn auch größtenteils recht anspruchslose Rätsel, die zusammen mit den Mini-Mario-Passagen und den Bosskämpfen ein abwechslungsreiches Gesamtpaket liefern. Die fehlende Herausforderung durch das Anpassen der Voraussetzungen für Sterne dürfte Fans des Originals ein Dorn im Auge sein, dafür harmonisieren die neuen Level hervorragend mit den vorhandenen und liefern angesichts des stattlichen Preises von 50 Euro dringend nötige zusätzliche Inhalte. Der neue Look und Sound stehen Mario vs. Donkey Kong derweil gut zu Gesicht und verpassen dem Spiel ein zeitgemäßes Gefühl: Eine größtenteils gelungene Neuauflage, der es vor allem am Schwierigkeitsgrad und Umfang mangelt.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong bietet kurzweiligen Knobelspaß mit hübscher, überarbeiteter Optik und einigen neuen Leveln, lässt aber leider fast jede Form von Herausforderung vermissen und ist für seinen Umfang etwas teuer.

  1. Guter Test, vor allem dass das mit dem Scoring angesprochen wurde, andere Magazine hatten das nicht mal erwähnt. Es trifft genau meine Befürchtungen und die, die ich allgemein mit Nintendo Spielen schon seit geraumer Zeit habe. Gerade wegen sowas will ich dann keine Remakes, auch Super Mario RPG, spiele ich lieber im Original. Nintendo kann unmöglich mit sich selbst von früher konkurrieren, dafür fehlt ihnen einfach mittlerweile das Gespür, sollen sie mehr Aufwand in aktuelle Produkte investieren, gerne auch kleinere.
