Fazit

Ich weiß die Ambition von Traveller’s Tales zu schätzen, das Erlebnis einer offenen Welt auf dem 3DS anzubieten. Doch Ehrgeiz hin, guter Wille her: Von der Umsetzung bin ich im Vergleich zur Wii U enttäuscht. Dabei kann ich der Technik nur eingeschränkt einen Vorwurf machen. Die allgemeine Sichtweite in der Stadt ist zwar angenehm, Figuren und Fahrzeuge ploppen jedoch spät rein und zu allem Überfluss sorgen mitunter hohe Ladezeiten zwischen den Stadtvierteln dafür, dass man kein Gefühl für die Größe der Stadt bekommt. Dennoch bin ich gerne durch Lego City gelaufen oder gefahren – was in erster Linie dem von Wii U bekannten Spielgefühl zu verdanken ist, das sich trotz nochmals reduzierten Schwierigkeitsgrads und in vielerlei Hinsicht abgespeckten Mechaniken auch auf dem 3DS wiederfindet. Und weil ich unbedingt wissen wollte, was Chase McCain vor seinem Wii U-Ausflug erlebte. Dieser Willen wurde allerdings immer wieder auf eine harte Probe gestellt: In erster Linie von Defiziten wie einem viel zu niedrigem Anforderungsprofil, was sich auch in beinahe blind zu erledigenden Kämpfen äußert. Aber auch von der banalen Story, die bis auf zu wenige Ausnahmen nahezu ihren kompletten Humor eingebüßt hat, durch den sich das “große” Lego City Undercover auszeichnete.

Die Kulisse hinterlässt trotz Detailschwächen einen guten Eindruck, mechanisch und inhaltlich bleibt man deutlich hinter der Wii U-Variante zurück.

  1. Ich hab nun noch nicht den ganzen Test gelesen, sondern vorläufig nur das Fazit, aber ein Lego-Spiel ohne Humor? Das klingt schon echt bitter. Bisher hatte ich das Spiel egtl aufm Zettel, wenn auch erst nachdem es etwas günstiger geworden ist
