Auch wenn die Computergegner sehr gut programmiert sind, macht es doch immer noch am meisten Spaß gegen einen menschlichen Mitspieler anzutreten. Die frustrierenden Sololäufe die ständig in anderen Fußballspielen genutzt werden, sind bei ISS fast nicht drin. So müssen beide Spieler durch intelligentes Spiel versuchen den Gegenspieler auszuspielen. Hauruckaktionen führen nur selten zum Erfolg.

Grafik/Sound

Die Grafik ist bei Fifa 2001 zugegebenermaßen besser als bei ISS, aber auch ISS macht keine schlechte Figur. Vor allem die Spieler sind sehr detailliert herausgearbeitet und hervorragend animiert: hier gibt es nichts zu meckern. Auch die Stadien und das Drumherum ist gut gelungen, aber einen Tick schlechter als bei Fifa 2001. Viele kleine Details, die man auf der PlayStation2 weitaus detaillierter und ansehnlicher umsetzen kann, wurden vernachlässigt, beispielsweise die Flutlichter, aber das ändert am eigentlichen Spiel nichts. Auch der Sound kann überzeugen. Die Stadionatmosphäre kommt sehr gut rüber und auch der Kommentar überzeugt voll und ganz, und fällt nicht nervig aus.
