Fazit

Grand Theft Auto 4 ist ein großartiges Game, ein Ausnahmetitel, ein Meilenstein der Actionszene: Kein anderes Spiel setzt derart überzeugend eine pulsierende, erdrückende Stadt in Szene, kein anderes Spiel erweckt sie derart brillant zum Leben, kein anderes Spiel bietet einen cooleren Antihelden als Niko Bellic. All das trifft auch in der PC-Version zu, außerdem sieht GTA 4 hier mit entsprechend befeuerter Hardware besser aus denn je – vom großartigen Video-Editor ganz zu schweigen. Allerdings können sich gegenwärtig wohl nur Spieler mit nVidia-Grafikkarten ins Fäustchen lachen, denn auf ATi-Systemen gibt es noch Grafikfehler am laufenden Band: Flackernde Schatten, Pop-Ups noch und nöcher und starke Rasterungen sägen am Grafiknerv. Und was sich Rockstar bei der unsäglichen, ausufernd langen Installation gedacht hat, die einem das System mit einem Haufen unerwünschter Zusatzsoftware zumüllt, ist kaum nachzuvollziehen. Wie gesagt, GTA 4 ist und bleibt ein Ausnahmetitel, wie es ihn kein zweites Mal gibt – aber auf dem PC mit ausnehmend nervendem Diva-Habitus! Die fehlerhafte Umsetzung macht das Spiel an sich nicht schlechter, raubt ihm aber einen Teil der Faszination – deswegen gibt’s auch ein paar Punkte weniger.

    Ich weiß im Moment nur, dass dieser SocialClub-Kram weggepatcht wurde, aber ich wette, dass man den für ne Erstinstallation wieder installieren muss. Aber bei Liberty City Stories fiel das ganze Gedöns soweit ich weiß komplett weg.

  3. Für mich war GTA 4 der beste Teil der Serie. Hatte sehr viele Stunden Spaß damit, allerdings habe ich das Spiel auch erst vor 1-2 Jahren gekauft, von daher weiß ich nicht wie es mit der PC Version bei Release aussah.

    Zumindest gameplaymäßig nicht hypemäßig
