Fazit

Wer gerade mit Shogun durch ist und nicht mehr so lange auf das kürzlich enthüllte Assassin’s Creed Shadows warten möchte, der sollte Ghost of Tsushima eine Chance geben. Denn im Grunde ist Sucker Punchs Open World-Spiel möglicherweise genau das, was ihr bereits sucht: Ein packendes, wenn auch nicht zu komplexes Kampfsystem. Eine wunderschön anzusehende Spielwelt und eine spannende Geschichte inmitten des mittelalterlichen Japans. Dabei kommt es auch zum narrativen wie spielerischen Konflikt, in dem Moral und Ehre gegen Rachegelüste und Meuchelmorde ausgespielt werden.

Ghost of Tsushima ist aber gewiss nicht perfekt. Die Sammelaufgaben in der offenen Welt in Form von Fuchsbauten, Heilbädern oder Haiku sind nett, aber spielerisch gewiss keine Offenbarung. Positiv sei jedoch erwähnt, dass die Welt nicht so riesig ist wie bei manch anderen Open Worlds der letzten Jahre. Eine dreistellige Stundenanzahl wird also nicht benötigt, um die Credits zu sehen. Nur ein halbwegs moderner PC oder als Alternative das Steam Deck.

    Wie sieht denn der Online-Modus genau aus? Spielt man zu zweit die Story? Oder ist es ein gegeneinander Kämpfen wie in einem Turnier? Im Ursprungstest habe ich beim schnellen Überfliegen auch nichts dazu gefunden.
    Es gibt mehrere Spielmodi, aber kein PvP-Modus. Stattdessen gibt es einen Story-Modus, bei dem zu zweit glaube ich insgesamt 9 Kapitelmissionen spielt. Die sind aber unabhängig von der Hauptstory des Spiels. Dann gibt es noch einen Survival-Modus, wo insgesamt vier Spieler*innen gegen immer mehr Feinde kämpfen. Und dann gibt es noch einen Raid für ebenfalls vier Spieler*innen.
    Die haben jeweils unterschiedliche Schwierigkeitsgrade, man spielt die immer wieder um sein Level hochzupushen und gleichzeitig bessere Ausrüstung zu erhalten. Damit es nicht zu eintönig ist, muss man sich außerdem für eine von vier Klassen entscheiden. Die stellen so ein bisschen die unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten von Jin dar: Also ob man nun lieber Bogen spielt oder auf Meuchelmord geht usw.
