Pferde ohne Ende

Jedes Pferd -es gibt mehrere Hundert im Spiel- verfügt über bestimmte Eigenschaften wie z.B. Ausdauer, Kraftreserven oder ob es eher sanftmütig ist oder nicht.

Diese Eigenschaften solltet Ihr für die -eigentlich strategisch geführten- Rennen im Hinterkopf behalten, denn wenn Ihr das Pferd frühzeitig auspowert, kann es nicht mehr zum alles entscheidenden Sprint ansetzen.

Das hört sich jedoch alles komplizierter an als es ist. Auf dem Rennbildschirm gibt Euch eine Anzeige ständig Auskunft über die Kondition und Reserve.
Und auch die Steuerung ist erfreulich simpel. Ihr könnt das Pferd antreiben, auf die Laufbahn Einfluss nehmen, das Pferd im Zaum halten und gegebenenfalls die Peitsche nutzen, um den Sprint anzukündigen.

Dadurch wird jedes Rennen zu einer strategischen Herausforderung und anfangs wird man vermutlich eher häufiger die rote Laterne am Schweif hängen haben. Doch man hat sich recht schnell an das Laufverhalten der verschiedenen Vierbeiner gewöhnt und fährt bald die ersten Siege ein.

Tja, und das war es auch schon. Man reitet sich von Woche zu Woche -mal gewinnt man, mal verliert man- und fährt Siegprämien ein. Am Abschluss des Jahres gibt es dann eine Prämierung von herausragenden Pferden und Jockeys.

Trotz der absoluten Minimalistik und fehlender Forderung jeglicher feinmotorischer Fähigkeiten macht G1 Jockey komischerweise Spaß – wenn man es nicht länger als sagen wir mal 30-60 Minuten am Stück spielt.

Größtenteils ist dies auf die kurze Dauer der einzelnen Rennen zurückzuführen (etwa ein bis drei Minuten pro Lauf), die im Zusammenspiel mit den integrierten Ranglisten für einen “Ach-eines-geht-noch”-Effekt sorgen, den man anderen auch nicht plausibel erklären kann.

  1. Dieses Spiel ist echt schlecht. Mal davon abgesehen, dass man ein echter Pferdefanatiker sein muss um dem auch nur ein bißchen abzugewinnen. Selbst wenn man diese Vorraussetzung hat, ist man mit einem Spiel wie Shadow of the Colossus sogar noch besser bedient, da man sich da wenigstens frei bewegen kann. G1 ist dermaßen in die länge gezogen und öde, dass man es getrost ignorieren darf.
    PS: War ein Fehlkauf und ich steh auch nich besonders auf Pferde. Hab aber dann versucht das Game an verschiedene Mädels abzutreten, die total vernarrt in die Vierbeiner sind. Die fanden G1 auch total daneben. Es gibt für mich auch viel zu viele nervige Punkte um sie hier alle aufzuzählen, aus dem Grund sag ich einfach mal G1 ist das schlechteste Spiel ever.

  2. Was fällt einem bei dem Stichwort Pferde-Rennen ein? Platzwetten? Blaues Blut in Ascot? Sündhaft teures Hobby? Möglicherweise all das und noch mehr... Doch nur wenige würden auf ein PlayStation 2-Spiel tippen. Doch genau als das präsentiert sich von Koei.
