Eleganz und Finessen prägen das neue FIFA 08 auf Xbox 360 und PS3. Aber was auf den Konsolen richtig Spaß macht, erschreckt auf dem PC. (360)

Wie aus dem Leben gegriffen: Ribéry geht über außen, spurtet die Linie lang und flankt nach innen. Luca Toni steigt hoch, höher als alle anderen und nickt ein – Tooor! Wo zur Hölle war Wörns? So ein Mist, der lange Italiener ist im Kopfballspiel kaum zu stoppen. Und dann sieht er seinem Original auch noch so ähnlich – das schmerzt den getroffenen Westfalen und freut den erfolgreichen Bajuwaren. Der spielt sich mit neuen Dribblings und der nächsten Flanke in einen Rausch und serviert mir gleich das 2:0…

Der FC Bayern läuft mit seiner Starbesetzung auf Xbox 360 und PS3 auch virtuell zur Höchstform auf. Voll gepackt mit allen offiziellen Kadern (Stand: 25. 8. 2007), Stadien und Trikots hat sich EA die Kritik des Vorjahres zu Herzen genommen und sowohl an der Ballphysik als auch dem Figurenverhalten gefeilt. Heraus kommt ein sehr ansehnliches und durchweg gutes Fußballspiel, dem lediglich die Dynamik und Unberechenbarkeit für höhere Wertungsregionen fehlt.

Erinnern wir uns: Die Premiere von FIFA 06 auf der Xbox 360 im Jahr 2005  glich dank Wachslook, Langhaargrün & Co einer technischen Katastrophe (4P-Wertung: 59%), 2006 wurde dann mit FIFA 07 dank der physikalischen Trennung von Ball und Körper   endlich ein gutes Niveau erreicht (4P-Wertung: 80%) und jetzt gibt’s grafische Klasse mit inhaltlichem Feintuning: Der Rasen sieht hervorragend aus, die Bewegungen wirken überaus natürlich und selbst das Dehnen des Trikotstoffs ist zu erkennen. Außerdem freut man sich über die Anzeige von Zeitspiel oder über die kleinen Kameraschwenks zum wütenden Torwart. Hinzu kommen Fangesänge vom knackigen “Ruhrpott! Ruhrpott!” bis hin zum langgezogenen “Baaaaaaaayern!”.

Und wisst ihr was? Selbst die deutschen Kommentare können sich hören lassen: Freut euch auf kleine Anekdoten zu Spielern oder Stadien, die sich zwar irgendwann wiederholen, aber die sofort für authentische Atmosphäre sorgen. Lediglich beim Publikum bleibt es bei den alten Klonfans im Tausenderpack.

Die Misere auf dem Rechner

Moment: Habe ich gerade etwas von Klasse gesagt? Ja, aber das bezieht sich nicht auf die PC-Version. Denn spielt man die parallel zum 360-Kick, traut man seinen Augen kaum: Ist das hier eine Microprose Soccer 2.0 oder was? Sorry, aber wenn

Dieses Fußballspiel sieht auf dem PC aus, als hätte es zwei, drei Jahre grafische Entwicklung verpasst – so eine Kulisse ist im Zeitalter von DirectX 10, 360 und PS3 einfach unwürdig.
man den Ball über Windows Vista laufen lässt, sieht das Spiel selbst bei höchster Auflösung von 1280 x 1024 und allen Detailstufen aus wie vor zwei, drei Jahren. Schon das Intro ist ein grob aufgelöstes Armutszeugnis. Und auf dem Platz wird weder im Bereich der Zeitlupenfiguren noch der Animationen das Niveau der Konsolenfassungen erreicht.

Schaut euch die Gesichter der Profis an, die eckigen Konturen, die platten Texturen im Training, die spröden Bewegungen – dieser Kick ist einfach veraltet und setzt EAs Tradition vernachlässigter PC-Fassungen in diesem Jahr fort. Weiß man denn gar nicht, dass Konkurrent Konami Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 sowohl auf 360 und PS3 als auch dem Rechner auf einem Niveau präsentieren will? Warum nutzt man hier immer noch die alte Engine? Mittlerweile sehen ja die simulierten Spiele im Fußball Manager von EA schon besser aus…

    Sag mal was ist denn dein Problem? Darf ich nichts zum Spiel schreiben nur weil es paar Jahre her ist das es das Spiel gibt? Wofür bist du eigentlich auf so einer Plattform wenn dir das nicht passt?
