Fazit

Dragon’s Dogma 2 lässt sich nicht so einfach einordnen – es ist auf jeden Fall ein besonderes RPG. Das Spiel macht nüchtern betrachtet eigentlich nicht so viel falsch, allerdings wirkt fast alles wie aus einem alten Spiel, das Capcom einfach remastered hat (damit meine ich nicht Dragon’s Dogma 1, sondern generell ein altes Spiel) – von der Grafik über die Spielwelt bis zum Look des Inventars. Das Vasallensystem ist interessant und dass man mit der spärlich gesäten Schnellreise und fehlendem Questziel-Wegweiser nicht jede Lösung sofort vor die Füße wirft, halte ich für einen guten Ansatz. Insgesamt finde ich aber vieles uninteressant und wenig motivierend. Besonders die hohe Anzahl an Kämpfen mit wenig abwechslungsreichen Gegnertypen ist schnell ermüdend. Klar spielen sich die Klassen sehr unterschiedlich und gerade die Kämpfe mit großen Gegnern wie Greifen und Drachen sind oft episch. Wenn das aber der Hauptbestandteil der Reise ist, ohne dass es Teil des Spielfortschritts ist, sondern nur das Erreichen des nächsten Ziels aufschiebt, dann hat das schon einen großen Einfluss auf den Spielspaß. Wenn ich also hier und da von einem klassischen RPG spreche, dann steht dieses Adjektiv nicht unbedingt für eine positive Sichtweise. Denn es kann auch bedeuten, dass es den Anschein hat, als wäre das Spiel am Reißbrett entstanden.

Ein spezielles RPG – eher für Liebhaber -, das sich durch einen hohen Schwierigkeitsgrad sowie viel Reise- und Kampfzeit auszeichnet. Wäre die Welt abwechslungsreicher gestaltet und/oder die Frequenz der Kämpfe weniger frustrierend, hätte Dragon's Dogma 2 besser punkten können.
