Fazit

Call of Duty 2? Wohl eher 1 ½, denn Big Red One ist vielmehr Add-On bzw. Halb-Nachfolger von Finest Hour als Schwippschwager von CoD 2, das immer noch PC und Xbox 360 rockt. Das Spiel ist in jeder Hinsicht handwerklich sauber, atmosphärisch wie immer top, die Steuerung geht flott von der Hand. Aber frische Ideen werdet ihr hier nicht mal mit der Lupe finden, es spielt sich wie jeder andere Medal of Duty-Ableger: man trägt dieselben Uniformen, man benutzt dieselben Waffen, man besucht dieselben bekannten Orte – alles wirkt bekannt, schon mal gesehen, schon mal gespielt. Selbst die Musik kommt nicht ohne das scheinbar unvermeidliche Trompeten-Solo aus, außerdem ist das Ganze wie gewohnt relativ kurz; mehr als acht Stunden sollte man für die Kampagne kaum brauchen. Danach wartet der etwas zusammengeschustert wirkende Mehrspielermodus, der mal wieder die GameCubeler außen vorlässt. BRO bietet genauso viel oder genauso wenig wie jeder andere WW2-Shooter, den man kennt – es hätte geholfen, wenn einige Verbesserungen des großen Bruders mit der 2 drin wären. So bleibt ein guter WW2-Shooter von der Stange.

  1. ..aber für die ca. 10 euro die es jetzt noch kostet is das game einfach nur zu empfehlen!
    klar die wertung klingt jetzt nicht so verlockend, aber wer wie ich von (gut gemachten) standard-ww2-shootern nicht genug bekommen kann der wird mit big red one einfach nur saugut unterhalten!
    natürlich kennt man alles schon, aber die brachiale action und technische umsetzung (xbox) sind wirklich gut! geiles spiel..

    Nein, gibt es nicht - Big Red One ist Konsole only. Für PC und Xbox 360 gibt's das »normale« Call of Duty 2«, das aber ein ganz anderes Spiel ist.
