Nach dem ersten Teil Timothy and the Mysterious Forest wollen Kibou Entertainment nun mit Timothy and the Tower of Mu nachlegen. Einen Veröffentlichungstermin gibt es jetzt.

Das kleine italienische Indie-Studio Kibou Entertainment hat 2019 mit Timothy and the Mysterious Forest ein nostalgisches Adventure in Game Boy-Grafik herausgebracht, das durchaus auf viel Gegenliebe stieß. Und was macht man, wenn etwas halbwegs erfolgreich ist? Man entwickelt eine Fortsetzung, natürlich. Diese wird auf den Titel Timothy and the Tower of Mu hören und schon sehr bald erscheinen.

Timothy and the Tower of Mu noch im Sommer



Timothy and the Tower of Mu soll Angaben unter anderem auf Steam zufolge am 9. August 2022 erscheinen. Dann erwartet Fans und Neulinge ein harter 2D-Plattformer in pixeliger Retro-Optik. Gleichzeitig wechselt man für die Fortsetzung auch insgesamt das Genre, wo doch der Vorgänger noch mit einer Aufsicht ähnlich wie bei alten Pokémon- oder Zelda-Spielen daherkam.

Zugleich sollen Rollenspielelemente eingewoben werden. Kibou Entertainment versprechen jedenfalls eine Herausforderung selbst für gestandene Plattform-Profis für ungefähr zehn Stunden für die Geschichte. Dabei sollen sich Spielerinnen und Spieler durch fünf Dungeons kämpfen dürfen, die jedes für sich ein ganz eigenes Thema hat.

Der Großvater von Timothy ist verstorben. Doch es gibt Legenden, die von einem Turm erzählen, der von einem Gott erschaffen wurde und der so hoch ist, dass er in den Wolken verschwindet. Wer es seine Spitze erklimmt, bekommt einen Wunsch frei. Für Timothy ist die Sache damit klar: Er muss es ganz nach oben schaffen, damit er mit seinem Wunsch seinen Opa zurück ins Leben holen kann.
