Die Dreharbeiten für die neue Staffel der Netflix-Serie zu The Witcher haben noch nicht begonnen, jedoch wurde jetzt bekannt, dass man einen namhaften Schauspieler für die Rolle eines beliebten Charakters casten konnte.

In der vierten Staffel wird der Heilkundige Regis eingeführt, der in den Büchern erstmals im dritten Roman Feuertaufe auftaucht. Auch in der Erweiterung Blood and Wine zum Spiel The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt spielt Regis eine wichtige Rolle.

Eine kurze Geschichte der Videospiele

Die Geschichte der Videospiele beginnt bereits in den späten 1940er Jahren mit wissenschaftlichen Tüfteleien. Die erste bekannte von ihnen war “OXO”, ein Tic-Tac-Toe-Spiel, in dem man gegen den Computer antrat.

The Witcher: Mysteriöser Regis schließt sich Geralt an

Wer das Spiel gespielt hat, weiß natürlich längst, wer Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy in Wirklichkeit ist. Bei seinem ersten Auftritt in Staffel 4 dürfte es jedoch noch ein mysteriöses Geheimnis sein. Der Heiler wird verkörpert durch Laurence Fishburne, unter anderem bekannt durch seine Rolle als Morpheus in den Matrix-Filmen, aber auch aus der John Wick-Reihe oder den Serien Black-ish und CSI: Vegas.

Wann die neue Staffel anläuft, ist noch unbekannt. Die Dreharbeiten sollen dieses Frühjahr beginnen; eine Ausstrahlung vor 2025 ist also unwahrscheinlich. Die Hauptfigur Geralt von Riva wird erstmals von Liam Hemsworth (Tribute von Panem, The Expendables 2) gespielt, der die Rolle nach drei Staffel von Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Argylle) übernimmt und damit in große Fußstapfen tritt.

Wiederkehrende Schauspieler werden neben Freya Allan (Ciri) auch Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) und Joey Batey (Rittersporn) sein, die ihren Charakteren auch im 2024 erscheinenden Netflix-Anime The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep ihre Stimme leihen werden.
