The Knight Witch: Metroidvania mit Cartoon-Optik

Schaut gut aus: The Knight Witch will rasante Kämpfe mit Erkundung nach Metroidvania-Machart und sogar Deckbuilding kombinieren. Noch in diesem Jahr ziehen wir mit Kampfhexe Rayne in die Schlacht.

Team17 nimmt das spanische Indieteam Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team (kurz: Super Mega Team) unter seine Fittiche und gibt den Publisher bei The Knight Witch. Das Spiel entführt euch in die Untergrundstadt Dungeonidas, die von einer mysteriösen Bedrohung samt Golemarmee bedroht wird. Heldin Rayne muss all ihre Knight-Witch-Fähigkeiten aufbieten und die Aggressoren zurückzuschlagen.

Sie hat 30 magische Karten in der Hinterhand, die der Spieler mittles eines Deckbuilding-Systems in die Action beamt; zudem kann man Raynes Fähigkeiten aufmotzen und ihr Moveset den eigenen Wünschen anpassen. Außerdem will der Titel mit einer gefühlt grenzenlosen Metroidvania-Welt punkten, verfügt über eine clevere Auto-Aim-Mechanik und angeblich ein Navigationssystem, das euch nie im Stich lässt.

Mit das beste Argument für The Knight Witch ist neben dem sehenswert flotten Trailer (siehe unten), aber die Tatsache, dass das spanische Team bereits Rise & Shine auf dem Kerbholz hat. Die 2D-Ballerei aus dem Jahr 2017 war wahnsinnig schick, hart und fair gleichzeitig sowie stellenweise richtig lustig.

  1. Ich post's hier auch noch mal rein: Während des Steam Next Fests wurd ne Demo für das Spiel nachgereicht:

    Ist ne nette Mischung aus Metroidvania und Bullet Hell bzw. Twinstick Shootern, wär imho keine schlechte Idee, es mal auszuprobieren bzw. im Auge zu behalten, insofern man diesen Genres nicht ganz abgeneigt ist.

  2. Bei Rise & Shine sollte man beachten, dass es sehr kurz ist. Ich habe es erst letztens nachgeholt und war in 3,2 Stunden durch, allerdings ohne Achievement-Jagd.
    Wenn man allerdings Qualität über Quantität stellt, sollte das gar kein Problem sein; in diesen 3 Stunden nochwas steckt mehr als in manchen 50h+-Titeln.

  3. Danke für den Hinweis auf Rise and Shine. Das ist bisher völlig an mir vorbeigegangen, obwohl ich solche Spiele mag.
    Knight Witch wird auch mal im Auge behalten. Schon allein ein Metroid-Vania auf der PS4 zu bekommen, das endlich mal ne anständige Grafik und nicht diesen Pixellook hat, der mir nicht gefällt, macht es nochmal mehr schmackhaft für mich.
