Die Rollbretter, die für viele die Welt bedeuten, kehren bald bei Electronic Arts in Form von Skate 4 zurück. Zur geplanten Fortsetzung gibt es gleich mehrere spannende Neuigkeiten zu vermelden.

Der Publisher sowie das Entwicklerteam von Full Circle haben jetzt im ersten Teil ihrer The Board Room-Videoreihe bei YouTube neue Infos kundgetan. Die wohl wichtigste zu skate. (so der offizielle Titel von Skate 4) dürfte ohne Zweifel sein, dass es ein Free-to-Play-Titel wird.



Skate 4: Gratis, aber mit Mikrotransaktionen



Die Ankündigung kann durchaus hellhörig machen und natürlich müssen alternative Geldeinnahmequellen her, um die dauerhafte Instandhaltung und Weiterentwicklung von Skate 4 zu gewährleisten. Deswegen wird es wenig verwunderlich Mikrotransaktionen geben.

Diese sollen sich dem aktuellen Stand nach lediglich auf kosmetische Spielelemente konzentrieren – ein Pay-to-Win-Prinzip soll es nicht geben und auch Lootboxen wird man vergeblich suchen. Als Vergleich nennt man Apex Legends, einen anderen Titel aus dem Hause Full Circle.

Skate 4: Plattformübergreifender Spielspaß versprochen



Ferner stellt man die Veröffentlichung auf dem PC sowie auf zwei Konsolengenerationen in Aussicht. Damit dürften also PS4 und Xbox One sowie PS5 und Xbox Series X|S gemeint sein. Auch eine VÖ für die Nintendo Switch kann an dieser Stelle nicht ausgeschlossen werden.

Der Skate-Spaß soll dabei nicht plattformgebunden sein. Stattdessen soll es Cross-Play geben und auch Cross-Progression – man wird also auf einer Plattform loslegen und bei Bedarf auf einer anderen direkt weitermachen können.

Bis Skate 4 beziehungsweise skate. erscheint, dürfte aber noch ein wenig Zeit vergehen, schließlich betont man ja, man „würde noch daran arbeiten“. Das ist das aktuelle Motto, unter dem die Entwicklung abläuft und das man selbstironisch auch schon in einem Video aufgegriffen hat.

  3. Komischerweise finde ich es bei dem Titel nicht schlimm. Skate 1-3 habe ich auch nur genutzt um mal für ne halbe Stunde durch die Gegend zu fahren und ein paar Tricks zu machen. So richtig durchspielen wollte ich die Teile nie. Vollpreis hätte ich dafür nicht mehr gezahlt, deshalb kann ich da jetzt einfach mal reinschauen.
