Mit Pharaoh: A New Era ist ein Remake von Pharaoh bzw. Pharao (seltsamerweise erst) nach der gamescom Opening Night Live für PC angekündigt worden. Das “vollständige Remake des klassischen Städtebautitels” aus dem Jahr 1999 (Impressions Games und Sierra) soll 2021 erscheinen und setzt auf 2D-Grafik bis 4K-Auflösung.

Triskell Interactive (Lethis) und Dotemu: “Plant und führt den Bau und die Verwaltung von Städten und Siedlungen im alten Ägypten durch und überwacht jeden Aspekt des Lebens innerhalb eurer Grenzen. Jongliert mit Ressourcen und plant die Verwaltung eures Reiches, um sicherzustellen, dass die Bevölkerung satt, beschäftigt, gesund und geschützt ist. (…) Der Klassiker glänzt mit brandneuen 2D-Grafiken, neuer Benutzeroberfläche und verbesserten Mechaniken und wird dann auch gleich die Erweiterung Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile aus dem Jahr 2000 enthalten.”

Das Aufbauspiel bietet 53 Missionen, einen Karten-/Missionseditor und zwei Spielmodi: Kampagne und Freies Bauen.

“Im Kampagnenmodus konzentrieren ihr euch darauf, Städte aus verschiedenen Epochen des alten Ägypten, Handelszentren, große Städte, Gräber und Pyramiden sowie fabelhafte Monumente für verschiedene altägyptische Führer zu erschaffen. Ihr agiert in sechs Perioden der altägyptischen Geschichte, wobei die erste Periode als Tutorial für das Spiel dient. In späteren Perioden haben Spielerinnen und Spieler die Wahl zwischen zwei Missionen – die eine ist eine friedliche Mission, die andere ist eher militärischer Natur.”

    Gott, was habe ich dieses Spiel geliebt.
    Ich bin erstmal angetan von diesem Remaster/Remake.
    Auch wenn es auf den ersten Blick nicht mehr zu sein scheint, als Pharao in typischer Smartphone Optik.
    Das Original inkl. Cleopatra Erweiterung gibt es übrigens gerade für 4,19 bei GOG :D

  3. Ich kann gar nicht in Worte fassen, wie hart mein Dick gerade ist. Die wohl beste Nachricht des Tages!
    EDIT: Moment, es gibt doch bereits ein 3D-Remake im Early Access, oder irre ich mich? Builders of Egypt? Da wird der Dick doch wieder direkt weich.

  4. Als Kind hab ich das immer am Klassencomputer gespielt weil es wohl als historisch genug galt dass es installiert wurde und mochte es damals, ich schau mir das Remaster vielleicht mal an, ich hoffe die Qualität stimmt.

    Genau. Ich hab das Spiel geliebt. Fand es immer auch viel interessanter als die Caesarreihe, aber bin schon mit dem Rerelease vor ein paar Jahren nicht klargekommen, weil die Technik doch etwas veraltet ist. Für ein Remake hätte ich mir deshalb eine Anpassung an moderne Zeiten bzgl. Ui. etc. gewünscht. 2D ist gut, weil die 3D Versionen, die solche Spiele in Ägypten und Rom inszenieren irgendwie meist nicht so gut rüberkommen. Von denen war ich, wie bei Caesar 4 oder Children of the Nil eher enttäuscht. 2D sah einfach schöner aus.
