Metal Slug-Hommage bei Kickstarter

Man nehme ganz viel Metal Slug, mische ein bisschen Lost Vikings unter und veredele das Ganze mit Commandos-Setting und Indiana-Jones-Klamaukstory. Das verlockend aussehende Ergebnis soll schon im September erscheinen.

Operation Highjump: The Fall of Berlin hat die wichtigste Hürde schon mal genommen – das (niedrige) Ziel der Kickstarter-Kampagne (6.000 Euro) wurde um 200% überboten, das Spiel soll diesen Herbst auf PC, Switch, PS4 und PS5 erscheinen. Im mega-ausführlichen Spielszenen-Trailer (siehe unten) gibt es Action noch und nöcher zu sehen, dazu ein paar simple Schalterrätsel. Aktuell scheint das Spiel also deutlich näher dran an Metal Slug zu sein als an den genannten anderen Einflüssen. Wer mit Metal Slug übrigens nicht vertraut ist: Stellt euch einfach einen wunderschön gepixelten 2D-Plattform-Shooter vor, bei dem man wie in Contra/Probotector Heerscharen von Feinden ausradiert. Operation Highjump sieht zwar in puncto Action nicht so elegant und flott aus wie der Neo-Geo-Klassiker, doch stilistisch ist das Gebotene wirklich sehenswert.

Ist euer Interesse an Operation Highjump geweckt, dann tut euch den Gefallen und lest die ellenlange Kickstarter-Webseite aufmerksam durch: Dort gibt es Blicke hinter die Kulissen, Stimmen der spanischen Entwickler, schön gepixelte Artworks und vieles mehr. Natürlich auch zig Stretch-Goals – von der physischen Version mit Artbook bis hin zum eigenen Arcade-Automaten.

  1. Kickstarter ist der Haken. Mighty No. 9 sah auch mal gut aus ;)
    Ich werde das Spiel hier trotzdem auf dem Schirm behalten, aber nicht vorfinanzieren.
