Oben, oben, unten, unten, links, rechts, links, rechts, B, A und manchmal noch Start – diese sehr bekannte Tasten-Reihenfolge ist als “Konami Code” bekannt. Sein Erfinder, Kazuhisa Hashimoto, ist in dieser Woche im Alter von 61 Jahren verstorben.

Als Angestellter von Konami erstellte Hashimoto diesen Code in den 1980er-Jahren, als er die NES-Version von Gradius entwickelte. Weil das Spiel ziemlich schwer war, erleichterte er sich das Testen mithilfe von Power-Ups, die durch den Konami-Code freigeschaltet wurden. “Ich hatte noch nicht so viel gespielt und konnte [das Spiel] offensichtlich nicht schaffen, also habe ich den Konami Code eingefügt. Weil ich derjenige war, der ihn benutzen sollte, habe ich dafür gesorgt, dass er leicht zu merken ist”, sagte Hashimoto 2003 in einem Interview. Seither hat Konami den Code in vielen der hauseigenen Spiele eingebaut (manchmal in leicht abgewandter Form) und auch über die Spiele von Konami hinaus, stößt man immer wieder auf popkulturelle Referenzen – sei es bei Rocket League, Anno 1800, Fortnite oder Ralph reichts.

Konami spricht seiner Familie und seinen Freunden das Mitgefühl aus und bezeichnet Hashimoto rückblickend als “sehr talentierten Producer”.

    Und früher konnnte ich sogar noch den IDCLIP oder den ganz komischen langen IDSPQSPO...irgendwas auswendig :) aber den google ich jetzt nicht.

    Aber ich glaub gerne das es viele im Kopf haben wie ich IDDQD
    Ach ja schöne alte Zeit heute wäre das ein DLC :/
    idkfa hat mir schon gereicht. man wollt ja nich übertreiben. :D
