Eine kurze Geschichte der Videospiele

Wenn im Laufe des Jahres Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 erscheint, dann werden ein paar Spieler nicht zur Brieftasche greifen müssen. Denn die Warhorse Studios verschenken ihr Rollenspiel an ein paar wenige Seelen, die vor zehn Jahren großes Vertrauen geäußert haben.

Schließlich begann die Geschichte von Kingdom Come vor gut zehn Jahren auf Kickstarter, lange bevor Deep Silver beziehungsweise Prime Matter als Publisher an Bord sprang. Damals sammelte das Entwickler*innen-Team über 1,1 Millionen Pfund (circa 1,3 Millionen Euro) über Crowdfunding und konnte somit den Traum eines mehr oder weniger authentischen Mittelalter-RPGs in Angriff nehmen. Mit dem Nachfolger will man nun ein paar Unterstützer*innen noch einmal zusätzlich danken.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Wer bekommt das RPG gratis?

Zuerst berichtete der User Interinactive auf Reddit davon, dass er oder sie eine E-Mail von den Warhorse Studios erhalten habe. Darin wurde ihm oder ihr ein kostenloses Exemplar von Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 angekündigt. Man müsse lediglich angegeben, für welche welche Plattform, ob PC, PS5 oder Xbox Series X|S, das Spiel gewünscht sei.

Was auf dem ersten Blick fast schon zu gut klingt, hat kurz darauf der Community-Manager in den Kommentaren bestätigt. Demnach geht diese E-Mail an alle Unterstützer*innen raus, die seinerzeit das erste Kingdom Come: Deliverance inklusive Akt 2 unterstützt haben. Die sogenannte “Duke”-Stufe hat 125 Pfund (circa 148 Euro) gekostet.

Einen wirklichen Akt 2, so wie er in der Kampagne angekündigt war, hat es allerdings nie gegeben. Aus diesem Grund entschied man sich bei den Warhorse Studios dafür, dass Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 im Grunde dieses zweite Kapitel ist und stellt es den Backern angesichts ihrer Investition ohne Zusatzkosten zur Verfügung.

Schaut in euer E-Mail-Fach

Falls ihr für das Rollenspiel ebenfalls so viel oder gar noch mehr Geld vorab auf den Tisch gelegt habt, solltet ihr aktuell in euer E-Mail-Postfach schauen. Wer seitdem sein digitale Adresse umgestellt hat, darf sich direkt bei den Entwickler*innen melden, um eine entsprechende Benachrichtigung zu erhalten.

Wann übrigens der Rollenspiel-Nachfolger erscheint, steht derzeit noch in den Sternen. Geplant ist ein Release für PC, PS5 und Xbox Series X|S noch 2024, aber bislang gibt es keinen festen Termin. Das zuständige Studio hat aber auf jeden Fall einige große Pläne mit Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 vor.

    naja, es handelt sich ja um die Collector's Edition, mit vielen Extras (Artbook, Figur, Soundtrack-CD, Making-Of DVD usw.). ;)

    Aldi hat zur Zeit auch eine "Kaufe 2 und bekomme 2"-Aktion auf sein ganzes Sortiment!
    Ney, Spaß beiseite. Feiner Zug der Entwickler noch an die ganz alten Unterstützer zu denken.
    Ich habe KC:D in einem supergünstigen 8€ Sale bekommen, hatte 150 Stunden lang Spaß in einem der besten Spiele, die ich je gespielt habe, und fühle mich noch immer so als hätte ich die Entwickler beklaut.
    Leider hatte Teil 1 starke technische Probleme am Start, sogar vergleichbar mit Cyberpunk. Ich hoffe, dass Teil 2 nicht solche Probleme haben wird, aber ich denke ich werde ein paar Patches abwarten..
