Zuvor berichteten wir: Der gewaltige Erfolg, den Fortnite mit der Einführung des Battle Royale-Modus im Jahre 2017 feiern konnte, hält dank Neuerungen wie der Option, auf das Bauen gänzlich verzichten zu können, bis heute an. Dennoch sehnen sich Fans seit jeher nach einer ganz bestimmten Möglichkeit, Epics Dauerbrenner zu genießen.

Diese wollen die Entwickler nach fast sieben Jahren nun endlich im Spiel implementieren. Die Rede ist von einer First Person-Perspektive, ganz wie es Konkurrenten wie Apex Legends oder Call of Duty: Warzone bereits vormachen.

Eine kurze Geschichte der Videospiele

Die Geschichte der Videospiele beginnt bereits in den späten 1940er Jahren mit wissenschaftlichen Tüfteleien. Die erste bekannte von ihnen war “OXO”, ein Tic-Tac-Toe-Spiel, in dem man gegen den Computer antrat.

Solltet ihr bislang von der Third Person-Perspektive, in der Fortnite üblicherweise über seine Modi hinweg gespielt wird, davon abgehalten worden sein, regelmäßig ein Ticket für den Battle Bus zu lösen, schafft Entwickler Epic Games nun Abhilfe. Während des State of Unreal-Livestreams auf der GDC 2024 kündigte man an, noch in diesem Jahr für die Möglichkeit sorgen zu wollen, Fortnite auch aus der Ego-Perspektive spielen zu können.



Laut der Roadmap soll es spätestens im vierten Quartal 2024 so weit sein, denn für jenes steht die sogenannte First Person Camera auf dem Plan. Wie das Ganze am Ende aussehen könnte, zeigte uns Epic bereits während der Präsentation für einen kurzen Moment. Dabei auffällig: Der starke Detailreichtum, der beim üblichen Blick über die Schulter eures Spielcharakters zumeist verloren gehen dürfte.

Weitere Neuerungen blieben im Rahmen der Roadmap aber natürlich ebenfalls nicht aus. Gerade die Creative-Fraktion darf sich künftig über einen Proxmity- sowie einen Text-Chat freuen, Gegenstände sollen handelbar werden und außerdem finden benutzerdefinierte Quests ihren Weg in das Spiel. Obendrein soll es schon bald Fall Guys-Assets und -Animationen geben, mit denen sich Hindernisparcours erstellen lassen.

Schon ab heute soll es Vorlagen und Tools von Rocket Racing geben, mit denen ihr eure eigenen Rennstrecken bauen könnt. Dank Fortnite zog Epic im vergangenen Jahr sogar an EA vorbei und noch in diesem Jahr soll das besonders beliebte Battle Royale seine Rückkehr auf dem iPhone feiern, nachdem es lange Zeit von den Apple-Geräten verbannt war.
