Zur virtuellen Messe aus dem Netz statt aus Köln gibt es auch Neues zu Ubisofts Shooter Far Cry 6: Der Trailer zur gamescom 2021 erzählt die Geschichte des Diktators Antón Castillo von Yara (Giancarlo Esposito) und der modernen Guerilla, die sich gegen ihn auflehnen.

Far Cry 6 wird am 7. Oktober 2021 für PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, Ubisoft+), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Amazon Luna, Xbox One und Xbox Series X/S veröffentlicht. Spieler, die das Spiel auf PlayStation 4 oder Xbox One kaufen, können es kostenlos auf die Version für die Folgegeneration (PlayStation 5 oder Xbox Series X/S) übertragen. (…)

Der Schauplatz ist das tropische Paradies Yara im Herzen der Karibik, in dem die Zeit stehen geblieben zu sein scheint – das Szenario ist unschwer an Kuba angelehnt. Die Spieler schlüpfen in die Rolle von Dani Rojas (Ex-Militär; wahlweise männlich oder weiblich). Zusammen mit anderen Revolutionären versucht man das Volk Yaras von der tyrannischen Herrschaft des Anführers Antón Castillo und seinem Sohn Diego zu befreien. Die Antagonisten werden von Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad) und Anthony Gonzalez (Coco) verkörpert.

Als Guerillakämpfer erkundet man die weitläufige Inselnation – vom üppigen Dschungel über Strände bis hin zu Yaras Hauptstadt Esperanza. Es soll die bisher größte Spielwelt in einem Far-Cry-Spiel sein. Der Open-World-Shooter kann im Einzelspieler oder im Zwei-Spieler-Koop-Modus gespielt werden.
