Der britische Geheimagent James Bond aus der Feder von Ian Fleming bringt es bisher auf 26 Filme, Doctor Who ist weit über die Landesgrenzen hinaus absoluter Kult – und auch der Nachwuchszauberer Harry Potter ist längst zur internationalen Medienmarke avanciert.

Und da wäre natürlich noch die Mega-Mod Fallout London, die trotz technischem Pferdefuß dieser Tage von Fallout-Fans weltweit erforscht wird. Jetzt ist ein Nutzer auf Reddit über eine markante Ikone britischer Populärkultur gestolpert: leider in gesundheitlich mehr als kritischem Zustand.

Technische Probleme und gesundheitlich angeschlagene Zauberer

Fallout London legt aktuell wirklich keinen einfachen Start hin. Denn so sehr wir uns darüber freuen, dass Team FOLON sein Mega-Projekt über die Zielgerade gestupst hat: Die technischen Schwierigkeiten rund um sich häufende Abstürze oder nervigen Bugs, sorgen bei vielen Spieler*innen, die sich aktuell gerne in Fallout London verlieren möchte, eher für Frust denn für Spiellust. Umso erheiternder, wenn das postapokalyptische London mit kuriosen Easter Eggs aufwartet.

Bei dem, was Reddit-Nutzer KingEdwards8 kürzlich in der Total Conversion Mod Fallout London entdeckt hat, dürfen Fans von Harry Potter ihre Taschentücher zücken. Was der Screenshot zeigt, wirkt für Leser*innen der siebenteiligen Buchreihe wohlbekannt: Wir blicken auf eine kahle Wand, auf der die Zahl 9 ⅔ steht – eindeutig eine Anspielung auf den kleinen Potter, der in Roman und Filmumsetzung auf einem ähnliches Gleis den Hogwarts Express besteigt. Daneben sehen wir noch den Gepäckwagen – doch wirklich aufsehenerregend ist ein an der Wand lehnendes Skelett daneben.

Ob der skelettierte Kollege nun, wie von KingEdwards8 vermutet, wirklich der vielleicht berühmteste Zauberer der Welt ist, oder nicht, ist letztlich zweitrangig. An erste Stelle fällt schlicht das recht clevere Easter Egg auf. Ganz streng genommen, kann der dahingeraffte Unglückspilz aus dem Screenshot nicht der echte Harry Potter sein. Schließlich spielt Fallout London im Jahre 2237, während sich der erste Roman, Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen, 1991 zuträgt.

Abseits solcher Detailfragen ist das Fundstück aus dem ambitionierten Fan-Projekt lustig zu betrachten – trotz der düsteren Vorstellung rund um den Kindheitshelden.
