Embracer Group(Unternehmen) von Embracer Group

Die Embracer Group (ehemals THQ Nordic AB) hat wieder zugeschlagen und eine Vereinbarung zur Übernahme des US-Unternehmens Saber Interactive angekündigt. Saber Interactive beschäftigt mehr als 600 Mitarbeiter in sechs Niederlassungen weltweit. Das übernommene Unternehmen erzielte 2019 einen Umsatz von rund 105 Millionen Dollar und einen EBIT von 62 Millionen Dollar. Saber Interactive erweitert das Portfolio der Embracer Group um vier angekündigte und acht unangekündigte Entwicklungsprojekte.

Der Kaufpreis umfasst eine anfängliche Zahlung in Höhe von 150 Millionen Dollar sowie einen “Earn-Out-Betrag” von maximal 375 Millionen Dollar, der von der Erfüllung vereinbarter Meilensteine abhängt. Nach dem Abschluss der Übernahme wird Saber Interactive die fünfte operative Gruppe der Embracer-Gruppe sein. Die Mitbegründer und Eigentümer von Saber Interactive (Matthew Karch und Andrey Iones) werden gemeinsam der zweitgrößte Aktionär der Embracer-Gruppe sein. Das Hauptquartier von Saber Interactive ist in Maplewood (New Jersey). Die weiteren Studios liegen in Russland, Spanien, Portugal, Weißrussland und Schweden.

Zu den bekanntesten Projekten von Saber Interactive gehören World War Z, MudRunner, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered und die Switch-Versionen von The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Call of Cthulhu und Vampyr. Das aktuelle Projekt Snowrunner wird weiterhin via Focus Home Interactive erscheinen.
