Mit Curse of the Dead Gods hat Focus Home Interactive ein neues Action-Adventure mit Roguelite-Elementen für PC (Steam) angekündigt. In dem Spiel erkundet man einen Tempel voller Fallen, Monster, Sprengladungen und Korridore. Verspochen werden herausfordernde Kämpfe, mystische Relikte und letztendlich ein Waffenarsenal, das den Hauptcharakter “unaufhaltsam” machen soll. Allerdings baut sich im Verlauf des Spiels “Verderbnis” (Corruption) auf, die man ignorieren oder gezielt für die eigenen Zwecke verwenden kann, aber zu einem bestimmten Preis …

Die Entwickler schreiben: “Curse of the Dead Gods ist ein ausgewachsenes Roguelite mit einer herausfordernden Lernkurve, packenden Kämpfen und Dutzenden von Waffen, Relikten, Flüchen, Räumen, Fallen und noch viel mehr, was es zu entdecken gilt. Alle Kernsysteme sind vorhanden, aber bestenfalls im Beta-Zustand. Größere Veränderungen können und werden stattfinden (…) Das Jaguar-Segment, das die aktuelle Version des Spiels darstellt, umfasst etwas weniger als ein Drittel der geplanten Inhalte. Da jedoch jeder Durchgang per Zufallsgenerator erzeugt wird, gibt auch schon in diesem ersten Segment viel zu entdecken.”
