Square Enix hat die Collection of Mana nun auch als Box-Version (inklusive Modul) im Square Enix Store und bei ausgewählten Einzelhändlern für Switch veröffentlicht. Die 39,99 Euro teure Box-Version bietet ein Wendecover mit Illustrationen der Helden aus jedem der drei enthaltenen Spiele.

Die Sammlung umfasst die Original-Versionen von Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (Final Fantasy Adventure bzw. Mystic Quest), Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana) und Seiken Densetsu 3 (Trials of Mana). Der dritte Teil der Reihe war außerhalb Japans nicht veröffentlicht worden und wurde somit auch nicht übersetzt. Die Sammlung wird laut Nintendo in den Sprachen Deutsch, Englisch, Spanisch und Französisch angeboten. Diese Spiele-Sammlung enthält nun auch eine Schnellspeicher-Funktion. Secret of Mana bietet einen lokalen Mehrspieler-Modus für bis zu drei Spieler. Trials of Mana können zwei Personen gemeinsam spielen.

Die Collection of Mana für Nintendo Switch ist im Zuge der E3 2019 sowohl angekündigt als auch gleich veröffentlicht worden – und erstmals ist der dritte Teil, Seiken Densetsu 3 bzw. Trials of Mana, mit offizieller Übersetzung spielbar. Wir haben uns die Umsetzungen der drei Action-Rollenspiel-Klassiker aus den 90ern im Test genauer angeschaut.
