Das September-Update für Civilization 6 ist auf PC veröffentlicht worden. Der im Vorfeld des Updates angekündigte neue Multiplayer-Modus heißt “Red Death” und ist ein Battle-Royale-Modus für bis zu zwölf Spieler, der ebenfalls mit der Computergegnern gespielt werden kann.

Der Battle-Royale-Modus spielt nach einer Apokalypse. Die Städte liegen in Ruinen und so langsam kreist ein radioaktiver Sturm die Welt ein – wie in anderen Spielen nach diesem Strickmuster wird dadurch die Spielfläche reduziert. Anstatt eine Zivilisation aufzubauen, verwaltet man eine postapokalyptische Fraktion, die aus mobilen Kampfeinheiten besteht, die eine zivile Einheit schützen. Wenn diese zivile Einheit stirbt oder gefangengenommen wird, hat man die Partie verloren. Man erkundet also die Karte rundenweise mit den Einheiten, versucht zusätzliche Truppen zu finden und sie mit Erfahrungspunkten zu verbessern. Der sich schließende Kreis des Todes führt letztendlich zu Konflikten mit anderen Fraktionen und Außenposten. Nuklearwaffen können ebenfalls eingesetzt werden.

Ansonsten umfasst das Update sechs neue Karten für Civilization 6, zu denen auch gespiegelte Karten für Multiplayer-Matches gehören. Zugleich sollen die Küstenstädte verbessert werden. Einen Überblick über die Balance-Anpassungen und die sonstigen Veränderungen findet ihr im Change-Log.

  1. Ehrlich jetzt? Die KI geht weiter am Stock - o.k. eigentlich schleppt sie sich nur noch auf 1 bis 2 Beinstümpfen durch die Gegend - und die stecken Entwicklungsarbeit in so einen Quatsch? Die haben doch echt den Schuss nicht gehört!

  3. Oh bitte nicht!
    Aber das Update kommt für die Linux/Mac Gruppe bestimmt ein wenig verzögert. Sie hätten lieber einen guten PB Server stellen sollen statt Entwicklungszeit in so einen Müll zu investieren. Achtet mal auf eure Player-Base!
