Activision hat laut pcgamer.com im aktuellen Quartalsbericht bestätigt, dass der kommende Shooter Call of Duty: Vanguard (gerüchteweiser Projektname) vom hauseigenen Studio Sledgehammer Games entwickelt wird. Diese Abteilung half zuletzt bei Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War mit und hatte im Jahr 2017 sein letztes eigenes großes Projekt mit Call of Duty: WW2.

Passend dazu gibt es auch bei Sledgehammers neuem Spiel Gerüchte über ein Szenario im Zweiten Weltkrieg. COO Dan Alegre bestätigte, dass sich das Spiel auf einem guten Weg für einen Release im Herbst 2021 befinde. Call of Duty: Warzone soll erneut ins Spiel integriert werden, zumal Vanguard den Battle-Royale-Ableger auf noch unbekannte Weise “verbessern” soll. Im Bereich der Modi wurde der serientypische Mix aus Einzelspieler, Multiplayer-Part und einem Koop-Modus bestätigt. Sledgehammer Games kommentierte die Enthüllung offenbar mit folgenden Tweet:

    Klar gibts da immer einen Federführenden. Bei diesem Teil werden InfinityWard oder Treyarch nicht maßgeblich mitwirken, denn die sind wiederum mit ihren eigenen Produktionen beschäftigt.

    Vielleicht geht es einfach nur darum, dass irgendetwas revealed wurde.
    Es könnte aber auch so viel bedeuten wie "Totgesagte leben länger". Gab es nicht mal Gerüchte, dass Sledgehammer wieder zu einem Support-Studio degradiert werden könnten?

    hätte mir ja gewünscht die Charaktere gealtert auf einem Vietnam Szenario zu begleiten, die waren wirklich sehr sympathisch, was untypisch für CoDs abseits der MW Teile ist :Blauesauge:
    Pff. Der Roboter aus InfiniteWarfare hatte mehr Charme als der ganze Haufen zusammen :P - von einem Reznov fange ich gar nicht erst an.
    der Roboter war wirklich toll, letztendlich war das Spiel aber nicht so meins :Blauesauge:
    an Reznov (aus WaW?) erinnere ich mich aber nicht mehr groß, scheint mir nicht so sympathisch gewesen zu sein :mrgreen:
    die Truppe um Daniels aus WW2 und sein Fackelführer hatte aber Charme, da hätte man was draus machen können
