Vor wenigen Tagen wurde das enthüllt, mit dem ohnehin schon jeder gerechnet hat: Ja, auch dieses Jahr erscheint wieder ein neues Call of Duty. Nun gab Microsoft, seit 2023 offiziell der neue Inhaber von Activision-Blizzard, eine deutlich spannendere Neuigkeit bekannt: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 wird von Anfang an im Xbox Game Pass erhältlich sein.

Manch einer denkt sich gewiss: “Logisch, das gilt ja für alle Spiele der Xbox Game Studios!” Das stimmt, allerdings kursierten zuletzt Gerüchte, dass man intern bei Microsoft für Call of Duty aufgrund der enormen Verkaufszahlen eine Ausnahme machen würde. Diesem Thema wurde nun der Wind aus den Segeln genommen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 erscheint im Xbox Game Pass

Wie Microsoft in einer Pressemitteilung und im Rahmen eines Trailers bekannt gibt, wird Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ab dem ersten Tag im Xbox Game Pass interessierten Spieler*innen zur Verfügung stehen. Das gilt sowohl für die Konsole als auch für den PC – es gibt keine Ausnahmen. Auch eine zusätzliche Abostufe wird nicht benötigt.

Wann allerdings dieser “Day 1” ist, das ist noch unbekannt. Den aktuell gibt es noch keinen offiziellen Releasetermin von Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Allzu lange wird diese Enthüllung jedoch nicht mehr auf sich warten lassen.

Im Rahmen des Xbox Games Showcase am 9. Juni wird es einen speziellen Livestream geben, der sich nur um das neue Call of Duty dreht. Die Xbox-Präsentation beginnt um 19 Uhr, während im Anschluss direkt die CoD-Show beginnt. Dort werden dann sowohl der Single-, als auch Multiplayer-Modus des jüngsten Serienteils vorgestellt.

Wer entwickelt Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?

Verantwortlich für das diesjährige Call of Duty ist übrigens nach vier Jahren wieder Treyarch, wobei die Kampagne bei Raven Software entsteht. Das Motto der bisherigen Werbekampagne: “Die Wahrheit lügt”. Was sich dahinter im Detail verbirgt, ist allerdings bislang unbekannt. Black Ops 6 soll immerhin ein “düsteres neues Kapitel” einläuten.

Gameplay- und Story-Details gibt es jedoch erst beim Livestream, wo vermutlich noch einmal intensiv auf die Veröffentlichung im Game Pass hingewiesen wird. Microsoft wird sich gewiss von der Entscheidung einen erheblichen Boost für die zuletzt eher stagnierenden Abo-Zahlen erhoffen, während man auf den PlayStation-Konsolen weiterhin die Vollpreisschiene fährt. Schließlich wird Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 definitiv kein Exklusivtitel.
