Das Indie-Studio Artisan (Super Neptunia RPG) versucht mit dem folgenden, animierten Trailer auf das Japan-Rollenspiel, die Geschichte und das Szenario von Astria Ascending einzustimmen. Das Spiel erscheint am 30. September für PC, Switch, PlayStation 5 und 4, Xbox Series X/S und Xbox One. Es wird ebenfalls im Xbox Game Pass (Cloud, Konsole und PC) enthalten sein. Der Launchpreis für Konsole ist 39,99 Euro, für PC 34,99 Euro (mit einem Launch-Rabatt von 10%), 49,99 Euro für die physische Collector’s Edition (inklusive Art Book, Weltkarte und Soundtrack) und 39,97 Euro für die digitale Collector’s Edition (inklusive Art Book, Weltkarte, Soundkarte und einem DLC für Waffen-Skins).

Das Rollenspiel beschreiben die Entwickler so: “Astria Ascending ist ein episches Abenteuer mit dem Charme und dem Anspruch eines klassischen JRPGs und erzählt eine umfassende Geschichte über Schicksal, Aufopferung und Neuanfänge. Das Spiel wurde über drei Jahre hinweg vom zehnköpfigen Entwicklerteam Artisan Studio in Zusammenarbeit mit Publisher Dear Villagers entwickelt und zeichnet sich durch die Mitarbeit von Weltklasse-JRPG-Entwicklern aus. Der Soundtrack stammt von Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story), die Geschichte von Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VII Remake) und die Grafik von CyDesignation (Akihiko Yoshida und Hideo Minaba). In einer vom Chaos bedrohten Welt übernehmen Spieler die Kontrolle über die Halbgötter – eine bunt zusammengewürfelte Truppe von acht Helden, denen das Schicksal der Welt anvertraut ist. Jeder Charakter hat seine eigene Geschichte, die über fünf Städte, fünfundzwanzig Dungeons und dreißig Stunden Gameplay – für 100% Fertigstellung fünfzig Stunden – erforscht wird. Neben den fein abgestimmten, rundenbasierten Kämpfen können die Spieler eine Reihe von Nebenquests und Minispielen ausprobieren, darunter ein originales, fantastisches Token-Spiel.”
